Chapter One: New beginning
Ok, so here I am. I’ve parked my car in front of this enormous building and I still can’t believe this is happening! I’m actually going to work in Princeton uh… something starting with P, Teaching Hospital. I have to check it’s full name. I’m so excited I don’t even know what its full name is! Wait, I think it’s Plainsboro. Yeah, that’s it.
So, I’m going to work here for the rest 5 years 5 hours a day. Well, not really work- volunteer, and 5 years? If everything works out. I am a little bit nervous, let me correct myself, I’m a LOT nervous to meet my new boss. People say he tends to be mean, rude and does whatever he wants. As they say: He’s just being House.
I hope that I won’t get off on the wrong foot with him. But somehow, I feel that’s exactly what’s going to happen!
I got out of my car to face my new work place. I think it’s pretty unusual, at least for me. When you grow up in Los Angeles and come to New Jersey to study medicine, there are some things that are different. The weather, the people, time zone, scenery…
Wait, I take that back! Everything is different!
It’s past 10 am and now I’m late!!! Nice way to start a day! I entered the hospital and I immediately spotted the reception desk. The woman behind it greeted me with a warm smile: “ How can I help you” she asked politely.
“I am a new volunteer for dr. House and I’m supposed to meat him at 10 am.”
“And your name is…?” the woman continued.
“Summer Harris”, I answered quickly and just when I wanted to ask where I should go I heard “You’re late and your parents were probably smoking something when they gave you name” from behind me.
“I can explain…” I started as I turned around to face the middle-aged man. “You can explain why they were smoking? …You’re working clinic duty! You do know how to take samples of blood, urine and other bodily fluids, don’t you?” He was impolite and wasn’t wearing a coat as doctors should. “I assume you’re doctor House”, “Well, duh” said the diagnostician sarcastically. I opened my mouth to ask where the lockers are when he snapped:
“You are at least 18 years old, right?”
“Yes, as a matter of fact, I turned 18 this April”, I let him know.
“Oh, we are going to get on just fine” he said in a funny tone. I wasn’t sure what my age had to do with anything until he added: “And, by the way, you have nice boobs for an 18-year-old.”

Clinic duty is a pain in the ass. Most people come here as an excuse to leave work early or don’t go to work at all! They are just wasting my time! I should be working with dr. House’s team on the current case! How am I supposed to learn something new?
Two hours have passed since I had last seen House who disappeared after giving me a coat and loads of patients to examine. I am allowed to leave now and find where the team is, and do the real stuff. Finally. I know I am here under some conditions, and if I want to work with the best I should just get over this clinic duty.
I stepped out of the elevator and I could see House talking to a blonde woman. Thank God I’m not the only one with the blonde hair around him! As I got closer I could hear bits of their conversation:
“ Does Cuddy know?” I could vaguely hear the blonde woman asking.
“No. And she can’t know. She knows what we doing … isn’t right” I tried to hear as hard as I can.
This could be something juicy! And I love juicy! But, I’m not the type of person that shares juicy information. That’s gossiping! Anyway, they stopped taking for no reason when I realized they spotted me!
“You are supposed to do clinic duty! Clinic. Duty. Patients. Down. Are you that stupid? Oh wait, you’re blonde, that explains a lot! ” House started yelling at me.
“I’m not stupid. And suggesting that I am based on the color of my hair isn’t right. I know where patients are, and I know 2 hours have passed and I should be listening to your diagnoses.”
I wasn’t going to let go of this so quickly; he has to know I’m here to stay and that he can’t mess with me.
“Yeah, yeah , yeah. And I’m a monkey that dances around the table! Get in!”
He said pointing to the big office. As I got in I could see 2 people around the big table in the center of the room. I introduced myself and if I could hear well, their last names are Taub and Kutner.
As I sat down House started writing something on the board. Now, that he has moved I can see he wrote Winter.
“Winter is staying with us for some time! God knows why- but ok!” House said sarcastically.
“My name is Summer.” I corrected him. Now, I could hear familiar voice behind me saying: “Don’t mess with the girl, House.”
“Dr. Cuddy, I’m so glad you joined us!” House continued in the same, sarcastic voice.
I turned around and welcomed the woman I know with a delightful smile.
“Aunt Lisa” I said.
“Aunt?” House sounded confused…
“So that’s why you have amazing tits! Because they come from the same genes as your aunt’s!”
