After the gang got settled with their Dragons, it was finally time to start practice. Felicia looked at Hiccup with a soft tone, she felt bad that she kept interfering with his practices, it wasn’t like she asked for him to be with her 24/7 ,but he always offered to take her for random rides on toothless. She didn’t mind this of course but she knew people were getting annoyed.
She glanced over at toothless who was purring like a cat as Hiccup stocked him behind the ears. Toothless was absolutely an amazing dragon, she never met a dragon quite like him, actually she never met a dragon ever but there was just something about Toothless that made her at ease, except whenever they went flying, she still wasn’t used to that.
She looked over at all the other dragons that were around. They looked spectacular. Fishleggs dragon looked chubby, yet adorable. She walked up to it, gazing at it admiringly.
“This is my girl.” Fishleggs announced, proudly. He loved talking about his dragon, he took care of it like it was his own kid and was happy that Felicia took an interest in it. “She may not look intimidating but whenever she’s in battle, she’s pretty fierce.” He grinned; Felicia smiled at him and looked at the Dragon shyly. “She’s beautiful.” Felicia agreed.
Fishleggs blushed, hearing Felicia’s voice, they were all still not used to her talking, and neither was Felicia herself.
Hiccup got up from his knees and stood up. “Alright well, since I’m here now we should begin.”
There were groans and sighs from everyone mumbling “Finally.”
Hiccup bit his lip, he knew he hadn’t been focused on his work lately and he did feel bad for commig late all the time. He glanced over at Felicia and couldn’t help but melt, “meh it’s worth it.” He thought.
Hiccup took a look at his friends, everyone was on their dragon’s ready for today’s lesson, and he then noticed something. He looked again then raised his eyebrow, curiously. “Uh, has anyone seen Snotlout?”
Everyone shrugged their shoulders. Truth is, nobody has seen Snotlout in a couple of days. Not that Hiccup minded, things were pretty peaceful without him but he was starting to get curious.
Felicia gulped when she heard Snoutlout’s name being mentioned. She didn’t care to see if he showed up or not. Beth had told her the full story, she knew everything but beth made her promise not to tell anyone. Felicia tried to convince Beth otherwise, saying that it may help if she told her parents or Hiccup or at least someone, but she refused to speak about it ever again. Felicia glanced over at Hiccup, she so badly wanted to tell him what had happened to his sister. It was even worse whenever Hiccup asked if she knew anything about Beth’s attack since Beth wouldn’t tell him anything and Felicia would have to lie saying that she didn’t know anything either. She looked over at Astrid who was now glaring at her, why did she hate her so much? She didn’t really know why but she took that as a hint to leave. Felicia never really stayed for Dragon Trainning anyways, she was too scared to distract Hiccup and she wasn’t comfortable around Astrid.
As she was about to leave Tuffnut came and wrapped his arm around her.“You should stay, this could be fun! Il show you how a real Viking trains his dragon.” He sneered.
Hiccup glanced over at them, rolling his eyes. He couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous, he knew Felicia wasn’t his or anything but he couldn’t help but feel that tension. Tuffnut had been trying to get with Felicia since day one and it was getting rather annoying for him.
“A real Viking? Haha please is that how you seriously pick up girls Tuffnut?”
Everyone got caught off guard as they saw Snoutlout smirking at Tuffnut, laughing. Felicia started shaking , seeing his presence.
Tuffnut put his arm off of Felicia and walked up to Snoutlout, staring at him suspiciously. “Where have you been?”
“Is it any of your business?” Snotlout sneered, putting his fist up to Tuffnut.
“Alright, that’s enough.” Hiccup growled, getting in between the two boys. He stared at Snotlout suspiciously as he went and lined up with his dragon.
“Ok. Is there going to be anymore interruptions?” Hiccup groaned.
“Uh hello?”
Hiccup turned to his right to face the silver, haired boy that he recognised from Beth’s attack. His eyes grew wide, he thought that he had disappeared but here he was, right in front of him again.
“Do we know you?” Tuffnut asked, confused. He recognised the boy from earlier on today; he had made his twin sister turn into a drooling mess. He already wasn’t the fondest of him.
The boy smirked “I told you, I was going to sign up for Dragon Trainning Lessons.”
The boy made eye contact with Snotlout, he’s whole body felt like it was burning up. He wanted to claw at Snoutlouts neck, and make him choke till he collapsed. Snotlout froze in his spot, he started to panic inside. If looks could kill, he’d be dead.
“Well, you can’t sign up there’s already enough of us already.” Tuffnut sneered.
“Actually, it would be great to have someone new join.” Hiccup defended, putting his hand on the boy’s shoulder.
The boy smiled at Hiccup, still glaring at Snotlout. Snotlout didn’t know what to do, if this boy was going to be joining Dragon Trainning with them it would be a living nightmare for him.
“My name’s Jack by the way.” Jack said, proudly, shaking Hiccup’s hand.
“Jack who?” Tuffnut asked, defending.
“Who cares,” Ruffnut sighed, making a gaga love face at the boy.
Jack just smirked and crossed his arms. “Lawrence... Jack Lawrence.” He wasn’t about to tell anyone he’s real name anytime soon.
“Well Jack Lawrence, Welcome aboard. “ Hiccup said, in a friendly matter.
Astrid looked at the new boy suspicious while Ruffnut continued to droll over him. Toothless went around Hiccup and nudged his head into Jack’s chest, purring. Jack kneeled down “Hey boy.” He whispered.
“You know Toothless?” Hiccup asked, looking at Jack and his dragon rather confused.
“Toothless? Oh is that his name?” Jack asked, standing back up smiling. “I guess you could say we sort of know each other, only met once.”
Hiccup wanted to ask more questions but he knew Dragon Training was already running late and it seemed like Jack wasn’t into answering any questions anytime soon, he seemed pretty mysterious. Hiccup glanced over at Felicia who was staring at the boy in awe, Hiccup sighed. She probably thought that he was good looking or something. Felicia was indeed staring at the boy but she was thinking he was good looking; she was in awe because she knew this boy had saved Beth’s life. She shook her head quickly, “Beth needs to get out here.” Felicia mumbled, underneath her breath.
“Alright let’s get started, uh wait, do you have a dragon jack?” Hiccup asked,
Jack looked down to his feet “no I don’t but I could go hunt for one later.” He suggested.
Hiccup looked in horror “Ah, here we don’t hunt Dragons, were more their friends. Here you can use Toothless for now after I demonstrate what we’re doing today.”
Jack smirked and got into the line with the rest of the friends. “Sounds good.” His eyes still glaring at Snotlout.
Hiccup demonstrated a few things about how to control your dragons. A lot of them had a hard time to keep up with this. The twin’s dragon took control and started bumping everywhere into absolutely everything, and Snotlouts dragon kept shooting fire everywhere. Astrid’s dragon seemed to be the only one that was controlled. Jack went up to the other Dragon’s and somehow made them stop and listen. Jack had a way with the dragons that was for sure, people stared at him. Hiccup shook his head and opened his eyes; never had anyone learnt that quickly of how to control their dragons. He also saw Felicia who was sitting in a corner was staring at the boy in awe. This was bad, Hiccup wanted to look good in front of Felicia, not this new guy.
The next round was stunts. Hiccup gracefully showed them how to make their dragons do a loop upside down. Felicia clapped her hands in amazement while grinning at Hiccup. Hiccup saw this and pushed out his chest proudly. Everyone looked at Hiccup nervously as he landed; they all didn’t think they could do that without hurting themselves.
Astrid was the first one to try. She landed on her butt, screeching. Felicia tried her best not to laugh. Fishleggs refused to try but Hiccup insisted that he at least try, he ended up pissing his pants so Hiccup told him that he could go and take a ten minute break. The twins made it half way into the air but whenever they went upside down they both fell down to ground, groaning.
“Step aside. This calls for a real Viking.” Snotlout declared.
Jack rolled his eyes and grinded his teeth as Snotlout began to do the loop, he managed to do it slowly and landed back on the ground safely. He started shouting in victory , everyone groaning.
“Jack, you’re up.” Hiccup said, handing toothless to him and covering his ears from Snotlouts victory shouts.
Jack bumped into Snoutlout on purpose, glaring at him. He got on top of Toothless and was already gone. He went so fast that it was hard to even catch up with him, he did three amazing loops into the air and made it to the ground, leaving dust. There was dead silence as everyone stared at the boy in awe.
“Was that alright?” Jack smirked.
“y-yes that was great!” Hiccup stammered,
Snotlout froze. He didn’t know what was with this guy but he was beginning to be afraid of him. He already had given him quite a beating and now he had beat Hiccup at even his best game. Snotlout didn’t know if he should start sooking up to the guy or just continue to try and beat him.
Jack crossed his arms, smiling leaning against the stone walls. This wasn’t that hard but he wasn’t really interested in any of these people as they gapped at him. He turned his head towards Beth’s window and smiled at her. She backed away, blushing. He grinned, he knew that Beth had been watching the whole time and he hopped that he put on a great show for her.
