ONLY a handful of indie bands from the United States show promise in going mainstream and only the best remain relevant and popular.
Imagine Dragons, an indie rock band from Nevada, sets out to be different by incorporating a unique sound in its identity. This is proven by its chart-topping hits including It’s Time and Radioactive. The former is featured in the trailer for Perks Of Being A Wallflower, while the latter is part of the soundtrack for the Stephanie Meyer movie The Host.
The band is also known for its strong beats and vocals. Its vocalist and founder is Dan Reynolds, whose voice fares well with the band’s tunes.
Currently there are four members: Reynolds, Ben McKee (bass), Wayne Sermon (guitar) and Dan Platzman (drums, viola). Imagine Dragons was formed in 2008 and has undergone several member changes.
The band has released one studio album, Night Visions, and six EPs. It was named 2012’s Brightest New Stars by Billboard and Favourite Rock Artist of 2012 by Amazon.com.
The music video for It’s Time was nominated for Best Rock Video at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
The band is slotted to perform at more than 15 music festivals. Looks like the members have a bright future ahead of them.

Daniel may be a native of Atlanta, GA, but he is rocking it with the best in LA. Also a graduate of Berklee College of Music, Daniel pounds the drums with precision and passion. Fun fact – Daniel has a Bachelor’s Degree in film scoring and holds credits on three films!
Daniel also performs the backing vocals for the band, as well as playing the viola.
He is the newest member of the band, joining in 2011, after the departure of Andrew Tolman who previously played drums and performed the backing vocals.
