Inuyasha Article: Why pick Kagome? Here's why..

Kikyo may have been a kind soul, but she was also very quiet, and you gotta admit she did seem kind of creepy. She felt like an outsider, and found a match with inuyasha. That's why they connected. Kagome is another story. She is bright, loud, optimistic, strong, fun and playful as well as scary. Now Kikyo is also strong but she's also a pessimist. The again I would be to if I was a walking dead woman who knew she had to go back. But still she seemed that way when she was alive, away from the village and children. Kagome always brought some spirit into inuyasha and has gotten him to make friends and have fun. She lightens up a dark mood. I mean even the voices prove it. Kagome has a high pitched voice that stands out when she speaks. Kikyo has a low monotone voice and speaks at the same level usually, it seems soothing to the point of sleep. I mean honestly doesn't he seem happier when Kagome is around. They started out as friends and eventually became lovers. Inuyasha and Kikyo didn't really start out as friends. And I think it's a good thing that Kagome and inuyasha fight a lot because it proves that they are a normal couple who have their fights. Kikyo and inuyasha never fought I think.... And they always seemed in some creepy atmosphere, not just because of the soul collectors, but the aura. Inuyasha seems brighter and more alive with Kagome.

sesshyswind Honestly every one of those reasons is the reason why I can't stand that Kagome and Love Kikyo. Loud, annoying, obnoxious and hyper verses calm, cautious, melancholy and intelligent I think I'll pick package number two, number one just makes me want to reach my fist through the screen and run someone's head into the concrete, seriously =^_^= *meow* Personally I find it frustrating as hell when people keep saying that only Kagome brings out the good in Inuyasha or brings out the life in him, for who’s to say Kikyo couldn't have done the same thing but in a more mature way. Inuyasha and Kagome's relationship is awkward at best even when they admit their feels its awkward. When Inuyasha admits his feelings for Kikyo he outright embraces her like it's perfectly natural. He isn't shy or hesitant at all. I believe Kikyo could have made an excellent man out of Inuyasha had she had the chance. There would never have been an awkward moment. With Kagome Inuyasha blushes and gets embarrassed and tries to hide his true feelings, he never did that with Kikyo once he realized they were there. At least that is what's shown. I vote Kikyo is the better woman, or was before she was viciously murdered which you people seem to forget. Honestly how so few people understand the mentality of a ghost. *sighs*

Tuxy1999 If Kikyo hadn't been killed by Naraku (curse him), then Kikyo and Inu could've lived happily ever after. But I do believe that overall, Kagome was the better choice. First of all, if Inu and Kikyo were truly in love, then they would not have been so easily decieved by Naraku. I'm sorry, but they were so easily turned against each other, and I doubt that Kagome could be decieved that easily. And even after the truth was discovered, Kikyo still wished for Inu's death. If Kikyo truly loved him, she would wish for his life and happiness. Also, lovers don't usually hold a knife to the guy's throat when he proclaims his love for you, which happened in Episode 47, I think. Secondly, Inuyasha always acts so natural around Kagome. He laughes and smiles and is just a cooler person overall. I don't really remember ever seeing Inuyasha smile around Kikyo. He's either sad or mad when she's around, never truly happy. Another thing is Kikyo's personality. She was kind and understanding when she was alive, but a little impulsive (I think that lead to her death). She was selfish when she asked Inu to become a human for her. Why counldn't she just love him as a half-demon? They could protect the Shikon Jewel together! And after death, she didn't change, and if she did it was for the worst. She didn't stop to listen to Inu explain what really happened, and then was still acting selfish when she tried to drag him into the pits of hell. What's more is how she treated Kagome. Kagome's life meant nothing to Kikyo, and she seems to have contempt for Kagome since she has less spiritual power. Even when Kagome saved her life (multiple times), she showed no signs gratitude towards her. Despite all this, when she officially died, even I was very sad, and nearly cried. :( Sesshywind, this paragraph is for you. I agree that Kagome can be annoying sometimes, and that Kikyo is calm, melancholy, and intelligent. However, think of Inuyasha. He is loud, boisterous, rude, and extremely impulsive. Do you think such opposite natures could live together forever happily? Whenever he's with Kikyo his whole demeanor changes. If you could (I'm talking to all the Kikyo supporters out there), I would like an example of how or when Kikyo brought out Inu's true nature. As for Inu and Kikyo's relationship, all they have is romance, not the friendship and closeness that Inu and Kagome have. Kagome knows a side of Inuyasha that Kikyo probably never knew. I agree that Kikyo could have made Inu into an excellent man (like better-mannered), but underline and highlight (mentally, of course) the word "could." The story line is that Kikyo DIED. Without her death, there is no Kagome, therefore no story. I do not forget that she died, and I feel sad that she did. She was a beautiful, wonderful woman, and did not deserve to be slaughtered. Remember, she WAS the better woman, but death took that away. And think: Kikyo is no longer of this world, the world of the living. It would be impossible for Inuyasha, a living man (or half-demon), to be together with Kikyo, who's practically a zombie. Lastly, if Inuyasha had truly loved Kikyo, he wouldn't have fallen for Kagome.

tear- After Naraku deceived them, if Kikyo really hated Inuyasha then why did she shoot Inuyasha with sealing arrow rather than purification arrow? She could have killed Inuyasha but she didn't because she loved him and put him into sleep rather than killing him.

The next day, everyone had met in the field near the well to talk about where we were going next. I sat there and looked up at the blue sky. I closed my eyes as a breeze blew across my skin. I heard someone stand up suddenly. I opened my eyes to see InuYasha on his feet. He was looking at the trees across the clearing.

“What’s wrong?” I asked. He just growled and showed his teeth. I looked at the spot and saw the trees trembling. My hand immediately grabbed hilt of my sword. Suddenly, a tornado burst out of the forest.

Koga was looking at me weirdly. I guess he had never heard of a person who could sense the jewel shards before. InuYasha slashed at him, but Koga jumped out of the way. Koga is too fast for InuYasha I thought. Just then, Koga kicked InuYasha in the face.
