The next morning I walked slowly down to breakfast. Kagome was there. I sat down quietly.

“Kyoko?” Kagome said. I looked at her. “Are you okay?”

I nodded and starting to eat. Everyone was staring at me.

“You know,” grandpa said. “this is the first time we are eating together in a while so you could stand to cheer up a little.”
