End of Chapter 67
She looked at me for a minute before opening the door, not really sure what I was doing. She had the door about half way open when Emmett walked in, sweeping her off her feet as he pulled her close and kissed her.
"I missed you babe." He said in between kisses.
A few seconds later Esme, Alice and Jasper walked in, Esme and Carlisle quickly moving off to the side to have a private reunion. Alice walked over and checked on Bella, running her fingers through Bella's hair as they hugged each other.
"Wait, how did you get in?" Bella asked as she looked at Alice and Jasper.
"Well, they do have the place surrounded." Jasper said as he grinned. "But, take my advice. Don't try and keep Emmett away from Rosalie."
We all turned and looked to where the two of them were still enjoying the reunion, their arms wrapped around each other. Emmett turned and grinned as he winked at Bella, the story one that all of us had to hear to believe.
Chapter 68
"What have you guys been up to in here?" Emmett asked Rosalie as he ran a finger down her cheek.
"Not much, Gabriel has called twice." Rosalie said as she looked at me.
"What does he want." Emmett asked as he and Rosalie came and stood next to the bed.
"Me." Bella said softly.
"Well that isn't going to happen." Emmett said as he reached out and touched her shoulder.
"No, it isn't." I said as I hugged Bella close to me.
"Why is there a finger on the floor?" Alice asked as she bent down and grabbed the finger that had rolled beneath the bed.
Bella leaned in and whimpered as she saw Alice holding the finger. Esme moved as fast as she could, taking the finger from Alice as she ran into the bathroom to dispose of it.
"Bella, it is not Charlie's finger." Alice said as if we should have just known this.
"How do you know Alice?" Carlisle asked.
"The nail, it had a fleck of nail polish on the base. How did you not notice that?" She asked as she glared at me.
"I was a bit busy." I said as I looked up at her. "How did you get in?"
"Well," Alice said as she looked to Emmett, Jasper and Esme. "As you all know they have the building surrounded." I moved over slightly as Alice sat on the bed, settling in for what would be a long story.
"We all split up, watching the building. We quickly realized that they had the entire building surrounded, there were at least three guards on each entrance. I made my way around the building to look around your window, there were ten people below your window. I believe that Gabriel was there himself, watching the window..I saw him throw something through the window. I didn't know what it was until now, that's just sick."
"Ten people outside this window?" I asked as I stood up and went to look out the window. I was surprised to see one person standing in the glow of the street light. As I watched he lifted his head and smiled at me, not one second later Bella's cell phone rang.
I reached out to grab the phone, but was surprised when I saw a large hand grab it and lift it off the table before I could grab it.
"Hello." Emmett asked as he walked over and stood next to me.
"Yes I see you. Yes Edward's here." Emmett said as he looked down at me. "No you can't talk to him, tell me what you want."
I minute later Emmett closed the phone and shook his head, his thoughts preoccupied with different ways of killing Gabriel.
"Emmett?" I asked.
"Oh, sorry. He wants you to give her up, just let her walk out the front door. He is very upset that we got inside, he said that someone would pay for all of this." He said as he rolled his eyes.
"How did you get in exactly?" Carlisle asked.
"Well, like Alice said we were looking for a way in, we all knew that we had to get in here. That Gabriel was planning something and that we are stronger as a group then split up." Jasper said softly, surprising all of us.
"After I talked to Rosalie the last time I knew I had to get in here, that I couldn't be apart from her." Emmett said. "I wanted to just go smashing through, take out who ever got in my way but Esme and Alice wouldn't let me. They kept threatening to call Rosalie and tell her everything."
I looked at Alice and saw her stick her tongue out at Emmett, knowing that she had seen what would happen if he did try just fighting his way through. Both Alice and I shivering as we saw the image of Emmett fighting with four people, doing his best but loosing.
"We all went back to the hotel, discussing our options. Alice kept looking for options, but every time we thought we had a plan Alice would see a horrible outcome." Esme said, adding to the story.
"I was out patrolling, looking for any signs of weakness. I noticed that there were three people on the roof, patrolling their way around. I noticed that at quarter after there was a large portion that had no guard. I went back to the hotel and told everyone this, Alice looked and didn't see anything...we decided to try it." Jasper said softly.
"We waited for the time to be right, Alice went down and distracted the guards by the door. While they were distracted we climbed to the roof and Jasper and I took out the guards." Emmett said, truly proud of himself.
"So you made it to the roof, then what?" Carlisle asked.
"First we got Alice up with us, we watched everyone on the ground to see if they would notice...and no one did so we made our way to the stairwell and made our way down here." Emmett said, as if it were all nothing like it was easy.
"You didn't run into any other....problems on the way?" I asked.
"Did you know there is an incinerator in the basement?" Emmett asked, his thoughts about how we needed to get one of those. How much easier it was to dispose the bodies.
I shook my head, Emmett was enjoying all of this. He enjoyed being the knight that swooped in to save Rosalie...and Rosalie enjoyed the damsel in distress. I was about to mock him when Bella's phone rang again, Charlie's face showing up on the display.
