It seemed like days that they were in the sky, but Riley knew how to keep herself occupied. Every few minutes she would roll around in the sky. Kowalski had to hold on to her wings for dear life, and when he would yell Riley would just laugh. They were so high in the sky now that Kowalski could see the formation of the states below.
"Wow.." He said and flipped out his not bag, taking notes with one hand, holding on with the other.
"Beautiful isn't it?" Riley asked.
"Yes, indeed so." She flew a crossed slower now, so Kowalski didn't have to hold as tight, when something unexpected happened. It began to storm, and hard. Riley couldn't see out of her eyes with all the rain and wind but could hear Kowalski's quite directions. She did what he said, trying to fly higher to were they were ontop the clouds but she couldn't. A big lightning bolt thrust down, smacking her wing. She went hurling down on her side, and Kowalski was screaming as his grip loosened.
"CRASH LANDING!"
Riley and Kowalski both went down screaming into a dessert. Kowalski landed safely, but Riley yelped. Her wing was burned trew the feathers and burning like fire.
"Oh No" Kowalski said and ran over to Riley to examine her wing, "I knew I shouldn't have brough you here!"
"No, Im fine Captain. Just... Burns". Kowalski looked around desperately for water but none was in sight.
"Stay here, Im going to find some water."
"No! Don't forget about the mission Captain. Your team, The Humans! Ill be fine. Leave me here and save then, ill be ok."
"Im not going to leave you Riley!"
"Go! Save the world! Im not worth it!" A tear rolled down Kowalski's face.
"You are to me." and he tried to pick Riley up onto his back. Sadly, Riley just weighed too much.
"Its ok Kowalski. If you need me that much, I can try to walk. Im strong, I can handle the pain."
"... Ok if you insist on it Riley."
"I do, im not going to let you fail." Kowalski smiled at her, and began to go off, sliding in the sand on his stomach.
