The hollows that had gathered at the edge of the sudden flourishing forest in the middle of Mundo were in the middle of the debate on who would be sent to the empress to report this new discovery when they were suddenly frozen. "Sheesh. Boy why are these things always so stupid?" Phantom said to her brother as they made their rounds of the forest to collect the needed potion ingredients for their
homework. "Yeah, you say that now, but if I recall you had a major crush on one of those things the last time we were here." Which got him a sudden blast of ice in his eye. "Damn you sis! You know that I need that eye to judge auras on today's test." His sister made a face. "You also know dad told you not to use that eye for the test. What if you lost it in a fight or you got a black eye? You couldn't rely on it then." Focal sighed. "Received a black eye, not 'got'." Phantom froze his feet in mid-step making him fall. "Are you two done here?" A woman in her 30's said at the edge of the forest. The crest on her chest made the two wizards pause and swallow. "We meant no harm your grace." Phantom said as she undid all her work not only to the hollows but to her brother offering her hand to him. The empress waved their apology away as her eyes peered up at the massive stone structure. "It's been a long time since the lot of you were here. Before the destruction of the Smiths, if I'm not mistaken." At the mention of the Smiths, Phantom started to cry and Focal held his sister to his side. "Kura was our friend.... She still is." The empress's eyes blazed, but the boy only straightened and flexed his magic with or without the eye he was much more powerful than most wizards his age. The empress smirked. " You do know she is still alive, don't you? It's her that ended them, she that killed her kin,,,,all for what? A boy, a false love. She refused to accept it and let her emotions power her actions. For that I will have her blood, I will take her life and sip on her bleeding soul till nothing is left of it. For her there will be no after life, no going home to the creator. She will have nothing be nothing...." Phantom unfolded herself from her brother and narrowed her eyes at the royal. "Even if you did so you would remember her. Even as you drank away her soul you would have her memories become the vessel of her life her afterlife and home. She would be you and you her. She would live on in you." The empress bowed to her. "Very good child you defend her very well. Then I shall just kill her and leave her body to rot in Mundo's sands or somewhere just as isolated and lonely."
"As your heart. Nowhere else is as lonely as your heart." A deep voice of a bear said coming to stand next to the children. "Always the mother bear aren't you." The empress said to the forest creature. "It would be the same for you if you had let go of the past. But you could not handle losing the boy you loved to your sister and then the tragedy that your sister knew would come. She told you of it even, but you refused to listen and pursued that very outcome she warned about. You chose the path." Before the bear could finish the empress was gone her minions nothing but a pile of sand.

If some of you actually come across my stories and start to read them you will notice some do not have any real connection to the continuing story. As I have learned in the past. Pen and pencil tend to fade away on paper or anything else you write on. So I come here and write it on a screen and send it out as a pop fly into the audience instead of a home run.. Don't know if I'll use them or trash them, I just want to make sure if I burn out and leave the story for awhile I have some record of it somewhere I can still read it. I have tons of paper at home in 20 gallon totes at least 2 or more and 5 years in and can no longer read due to the fading. So I hope you thoroughly enjoy my scribbles in case I end up having a bad case of multiple personalities due to the people I have living inside my poor drooling brain. Probably why I have terrible spelling and punctuation at times. At least I think I do. Never did get higher then a C average in English.
