Hey everybody!!! I actually came up with the idea for this chapter after I had published the first chapter! Hope you enjoy it!
Marlene stood helpless....she had seen the whole thing. The muffled screams of pain, that drove a nail through her heart. Her amber eyes watered fiercely, and she let them slide down her face before letting out a bloodcurdling cry of pain that she was experiencing inside. She flinched as she felt two flippers wrap around her. Marlene turned around, and was taken aback by the sight of Skipper standing behind her. "S-Skip-per?" She stuttered, now half-crying. "Marlene....Marlene...Come on Marlene....Marlene...." Skipper said simply, though to her it was beautiful....Her joy was short-lived when she felt Skipper's warm, strong flippers leave her. Marlene watched as Skipper began to slowly fade away...."Skipper?...Skipper!... SKIPPER!!!" She screamed his name several times, as he called out hers. Skipper was only a pair of eyes now, those beautiful, iceberg blue eyes that she had come to know and love so dearly. Before he could fade away completely, Marlene shot her eyes open wide, letting out a full-blast scream along with doing that.
"At ease, Marlene!!!" said a very familiar voice. Marlene recognized the voice, immediately filled with joy, and embarrassment." Hoover Dam, Marlene! You want to wake up the whole zoo!" said that beautiful voice, that rang in her ears like a bell. " Oh, Skipper!" said Marlene, hugging Skipper with fierce compassion and love. Skipper was a little confused by this reaction, but that doesn't mean he didn't like it. "What ever made you scream like that Marlene." He said a little softer, trying his best to be comforting; Reluctantly, pulling out of the hug to sit next to Marlene on her bed. "Oh-oh Skipper..it was-was...oh.." Marlene shuddered in fear of what she had seen in her dream. "Oh, so you just had a little 'night fright'." He smiled at her, wrapping a flipper about Marlene's shoulders. She tried to force a smile saying, "W-well, it started with..." Skipper listened intently to Marlene while she was explaining her dreadful nightmare. Every once in a while, he would swear to have seen her eyes water when she mentioned what happened to him. "And... that's when I woke up... " She sniffled softly, trying to hide the blush from her face when she looked up at him, and noticed his flipper around her. Skipper somehow, snapped out of his trance, and said, "Marlene, you know that would never happen...I'm a strong military leader." Marlene sighed a little, knowing where this was going. I'm a trained, blah blah, professional, more blah blah. "But, in this dream, or I should say nightmare, my mission was to see you. And no matter what happens....I always complete my missions...whether for better or worse...and this was most definitely...for the better ." He spoke softly, and could not hide the romantic, comforting tone in his voice. Marlene blushed as he said this. She was definitely not expecting that. Marlene looked up, drowning in the ocean of his eyes. Skipper looked back, getting lost in her golden, amber eyes. Slowly, they began to lean toward each other. He's so kind, and caring. Marlene thought, His eyes are so big and beautiful...I could just drown in them.... Wow...Marlene is so radiant, her eyes are sparkling...Those..majestic, golden gems; that she calls eyes....Skipper thought affectionately. Their lips, (well her lips, his beak), were now only a tiny little bit apart, with no space between them. Skipper had wrapped both flippers around her, and Marlene had placed her paws gently on his chest.... And then......
