Hi guys, I had read the sequel to this wonderful novel and film. Are you ready for the review?
The Story
Like the first book, Jo Jo manages to captivates her readers with her sense of humour. So the book takes place after the events of the first book, and Lou fulfills Will's request by being happy with her life, she now works at a cafe in an airport. Unfortunately, she has an accident and she falls and ultimately landing her in the hospital where her parents are so worried about her.
After she fully recovers and checks out, it was discovered that Will had an illegitimate daughter during his college days before the events of both novels! I was really taken aback that her daughter was a potty mouth rebellious teenager. But, I can't blame her for that because of her mother who tries to forget Will.
The ending was a bit off for me, because why is Lou working at an ambulance with Sam Fielding. Her new prince of her life, but I can't blame her because she wants adventure in the great wide somewhere!
The Characters
Moving on to the characters themselves, I'm very happy to see many familiar characters like Lou, her parents and Mrs and Mr Traynor. The latter has sadly divorced and remarried. Prompting Mrs Traynor to be a divorcee who is trying to cope with her son's passing.
As mentioned, Will's illegitimate daughter was totally a distraction from the story. I felt that she was really unnecessary up to the point that if I will Lou, I would slap her across the face! I also find her very laughable and very unlikable at times.
Conclusion
After the success (?) of the first book and the film adaptation, I'm not sure if this novel will be produce into a film or not. But I guess that's up to Jo Jo Meyes's decision.
