First and foremost on everyone’s mind,
The greatest movie musical from a classic time.
"West Side Story" set all the genre’s bars.
The Jets and Sharks were their day's biggest stars.

His looks and talents in the disco age
Made his musicals all the rage.
As Danny Zuko and Tony Manero, in "Hairspray" and in "Shout",
John Travolta taught the world what dancing’s all about.

Between "Phantom Menace" and "Attack of the Clones",
Obi-Wan fulfilled a singing jones.
Ewan McGregor’s heavenly voice
Made every "Moulin Rouge!" viewer rejoice.

After his musical murder of JFK
NPH played a villain wasting away.
"Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog" was funny and smart --
Neil Patrick Harris show-casing his art.

This one goes out straight to Mark –
For Ol’ Blue Eyes, who lit the spark.
Frank Sinatra made hits of what had graced Broadway’s halls
As Pal Joey and Nathan Detroit from "Guys and Dolls".

When Ferris Bueller finally grew up,
He showed the world he wasn’t a schlup.
To play Leo Bloom and Harold Hill,
Only Matthew Broderick could fit the bill.

Rick Moranis made just one musical,
But that one was anything but dull.
"Little Shop of Horrors" was a cult classic to love.
His is portrayal of Seymour was one to be proud of.

No one knows it, but Victor Garber’s the best of tenors.
In "Godspell", his Jesus saved the sinners,
With "Music Man" he played foil to Harold Hill,
And in "Annie" he was the one who paid the bill.

Usually last but never, ever least are the newsies:
Boys who’ve never failed to bring fan-girls to their knees.
Young Batman had the leading role,
And Gabriel Damon’s Spot Conlan was the greatest thing EVER.

No. Seriouslly – the greatest thing EVER.
‘Twas by far his greatest endeavor.

But back to the point – the "Newsies" boys – now.
The best singer, David, was played by David Moscow.
Marty Belafsky was Crutchy; Trey Parker, Kid Blink.
Max Casella as Racetrack ended with a wink.

Each of these men and all of these boys
Brightened our days with their joyful noise –
Each one a jewel of the silver-tongued screen,
One can’t help but worship those filling the scene.
