Episode 6: New 52 Justice League International #1 - #6

Nick: Hello and welcome to another episode of Comic Talk!
Sunset Shimmer: Today we are going to talk about the New 52 Justice League issues #1 - #6!
Nick: Our story starts with Booster Gold being selected by the UN to make a super hero team.
Sunset Shimmer: The UN explains that they wanted to make their own "Justice League", but the superheroes wouldn't be independent.
Nick: So Booster Gold gathers a small group of heroes, which consist of August General in Iron, Fire, Godiva, Ice, Rocket Red, and Vixen.
Sunset Shimmer: Booster Gold also invites Green Lantern (Green Gardener), but he declines the offer.
Nick: As they leave for their first mission, Batman also tags along, unknown to the UN bosses.
Sunset Shimmer: When they reach their location, they are attacked by rock creatures, which the team easily defeats. However, a giant robot arises from the ground.
Nick: The team gets their flanks handed to them and retreat back to Washington D.C., where they learn that there are seven more giant robots (called Signal Men) rampaging around the world.
Sunset Shimmer: Booster Gold decides to quit the team, but he decides to stay as leader. Guy Gardner also joins the team.
Nick: However, deep in space, a being named Peraxxus states "this planet is going to die today".
Sunset Shimmer: Back on Earth, the team splits into two strike teams, while Guy Gardner discovers Peraxxus. The two fight and Guy Gardner is knocked out.
Nick: Later, Peraxxus captures all of the JLI, explaining that the Signal Men aren't actually his, but are part of a highly advanced race.
Sunset Shimmer: After Peraxxus explains this, Batman helps the JLI escape and the team fights off Peraxxus, sending him off.
Nick: The next day, the group (minus Batman) officially becomes the JLI.
Sunset Shimmer: Unfortunately, the team is killed (Booster Gold, Guy Gardner, August General in Iron, and Godiva survives), and then the issue ends.
Nick: Now for pros and cons:
Pros:
* The team they select is actually pretty good, almost Guardians of the Galaxy level good.
*The artwork and action are pretty nice.
Cons:
*Many of the characters act out of character (i.e. some act like a jerk when they usually don't)
*The explosion...it killed off some of the best members. They replaced by Batwing and OMAC, who I'm not a huge fan of)
Rating: 7.3 / 10
