Now she was walking by herself (with the exception of Plue) back to the guild. It was quiet. Too quiet. She had passed her house not that long ago, and amazingly, Natsu, Happy, Gray or Erza were not inside.
"Why do you think it’s so quiet, Plue?" she asked the small spirit by her feet. Like always, Plue did his dance and his own way of speaking. She sighed.
Wind blew and she hugged herself tightly. “It’s cold…" she mumbled, now wishing she had a scarf of some sort. A scarf….. Natsu. That’s who she was now thinking about. Where was he? He was normally inside her house without asking.
Or even he was just outside her house on special occasions. Normally you could hear him from a mile away but now she couldn’t hear him at all. Or arguing between him and Gray. Or anyone from the guild actually.
She pushed on, now coming to the front door of the guild. It was silent inside. Like no one was there. Which was impossible, someone was always there. Wether it be Mira or Master.
She opened the door, it being pitch black, which was unusual. She flicked the light on. “Surprise!!" she jumped lightly at the loud shout. She looked around in amazement.
The guild was decorated, from balloons in one area, to streamers in another. A table with food was seen, another with presents beside it. A cake with a pink Fairy Tail mark in the middle of it sat in the middle of the food table.
"Happy birthday Lucy!" Natsu exclaimed happily, a grin plastered on his face. She smiled warmly, tears of happiness streaming her face. “Hey Luce, why are you crying?" he asked. “I think they are tears of joy" Mira smiled.
Lucy nodded. “Who’s idea was this?" she asked. “It was mine!" Natsu said, jabbing a thumb at his chest. “You remembered my birthday?" she asked. “Of course I did!" he replied.
She smiled brightly. “Thank you Natsu!" she hugged him tightly. She pulled back, her hands clasped in front of her chest. “This is the best birthday ever!"
