This includes sites like mangaupdates.com and onemanga.com, who have promoted the movement against him from their own websites, and all of the scanlators who have considered distributing the page with their releases. Out of all the messages I’ve received there is still only 1 that firmly disagrees with the decision to run that page in the releases and it’s from Tazmo himself. As much as I’d like to publish his humorous email I’ll be mature about it and leave it up to your imagination (unless he provokes me again). Before writing the page I did a bit of research on how people have tried to combat him in the past and something like this was the best course of action in theory — It was only after hearing from all of you, and from a few that have cancelled service thanks to the message, that I was assured it is making a positive and very real impact against pay-for-manga sites.
A popular concern amongst readers (and Tazmo himself) is that I’m being unfair to NarutoFan.com because there are a ton of similar services out there, and he gives away Naruto/Bleach downloads for free. Simply put, he’s the most recognizable, and probably the most financially successful service of the type. The common “If you paid for this you got ripped off!” isn’t good enough anymore to grab the attention of readers and force feed them the situation. His free downloads are a very common marketing technique — count the number of times a link to his PLUS! services appears on those pages. Take one look at this page, and you’ll agree that his free media is really just a decimal place in the library of paid downloads.
The page will run with all of my releases a) until he shuts down, b) until he agrees to only collect the cost of his servers and not a profit, or c) until it becomes annoying because every manga reader on the internet has read it… a few times. Whichever comes first."
Bsmanga runs a page with every scan that explains how Narutofan.com is ripping you off.
Don't be sucked in. Manga scans are free, done by fans for fans. So if you have a subscription with NarutoFan.com, cancel it. Just download from bsmanga. That's where Tamzo gets most scans from anyway!
