Part 8
“I still think you should rest longer. You were attacked with like a techno version of dark magic for crying out loud”! Midnight said as Nicole started off to her own Hospitropolis station(house). “There are a few things that we’ll need Midnight, and The sooner we leave, the sooner we get back”. Nicole started. “We don’t know if the red army is going to come back to take the city, so we need to go soon”. She finished.
“… Good point”. Midnight agreed. “I wonder what’s taking Lisa. She’s been gone for almost two hours”. Midnight finished as they approached Nicole’s station. “Wait a sec… there she is”! Midnight exclaimed as she saw Lisa running towards them with a shining object in her hand.
“Hi (gasp) guys”! Lisa panted having finally arrived. “Yeah… is that a power ring in your hands”? Midnight asked. “Nope. It’s a warp ring. I found a spare in the ruins of the old city. My guess is that Julie-su had a spare in the city, just in case”.
“I have something as well”. Nicole said coming back out from her station. She was holding a strange pole like item, that looked like one of the chains Dr. Finetivus used on Angel Island (sonic universe Echoes of the past part 3). It had on it two sockets at its tips. One was small and circular, while the other was large and plunger like. Whole thing was the shape of a large plunger, but with a handle in the middle.
“What is”—(Lisa started) “A homemade hand held power ring creator”—(Nicole interrupted)—“that. “It needs a large amount of energy to work, but will keep us from getting infected, or damaged in our travels”. Nicole started. “The red army is potent. Once we have enough energy, we can use their power to keep us energetic longer than usual, if there is a surprise attack”. Nicole finished.
“That’s a little bit overkill like, don’t you think”? Lisa implied as the three friends started off to the exit. “The robot that stabbed me almost killed me, and that was only one slash, which I should have been able to heal faster. So no”. Nicole hostilely pointed out. “Sorry Lisa. I’m still learning how to control my emotions, from being given my actual body. It’s just that we’ve lost so much and--”. Nicole stopped, and Lisa put her hand on her shoulder. “We’ll get this right, Nicole”. Lisa said as the friends exited the tower.
They had spent the next day trying to find something that could tell them where the red emerald was, when it was finally evening. Nicole and Midnight created a would like hut for the three of them to sleep in for the night, but having grass blankets, pillows, and a floor did make Knuckles green form look not so bad.
The next morning, they found out about their new camouflage appearance, and started off with a yelp, followed by a long while of wiping and mad faces. The only one who was okay, was Lisa, who had packed a change of clothes, instead of wearing the same thing over and over.(And if you think I’m going to tell you what her clothes were, forget it. Just because they are all girls, doesn’t mean I’m going to talk about espadrilles, and bell bottoms, or whatever they’re called. I’m a guy remember?)
After the three friends had finally gotten over their appearances, they started off again. They had walked for a couple of miles when Nicole realized something that was starring her in the face this whole time. G.U.N. She remembered how Team Dark(Shadow, Rouge ((UGH)), and Omega) were searching for the Sol emerald, so they might have an emerald themselves.
They changed course, and had reached the base much sooner than expected, by using the warp ring Lisa had brought. They went up to the guards who recognized Nicole.
“State your business A.I.”! One of the guards said, oblivious to the fact that Nicole wasn’t an AI anymore. “We need to see whoever is in charge”. Nicole said to the guards. “We are under no pretense to allow that, so you will wait here until our commanding general returns, and even then he doesn’t have time for this. “Make the time, or let us see one of the team dark members”. Nicole hostilely spoke back to the stubborn guard.
“We cannot allow that either. You don’t just waltz into G.U.N. without an appointment, or at least a story. “Does a red army of Nanite robots with power enough to destroy this whole facility count”? Lisa butted in. “Hmm.. One moment.” The guard said as he turned around and pulled out his comp.
“Nice one Cat girl!” Midnight announced. “Thanks, and I’m Lisa.” Lisa said in a somewhat upset tone. “Oh, sorry.” The young Rabbit apologized.
The guard turned around and said “Stay here. They will be right with you”. “Cool”. Midnight said as she sat down. seconds after the guard left, 15 more guards came back and surrounded the three females, with their guns pointed at them. “What’s going on”? Nicole said just before the men started firing.
