Lucas is on his game! He has taken Nathan's spot on the line up, so Nathan organizes the team to be hazy. He's also annoyed with Lucas' growing popularity, so tries to find his weak spot, which turns out to be Haley James - Lucas' Best Friend.

Nathan needs tutoring, and turns to Haley as he knows that will hurt Lucas the most, seeing his best friend with his worst rival. Although he wants to hurt Lucas and use Haley, he really does need tutoring as he is threatened with being booted of the team if his grades don't improve.

Brooke is also developing feelings for Lucas, Karen must face so faces from her past, and Peyton is ferious with Lucas when she discovers he's the one who submitted her artwork to Thud magazine.
