The members of New Religion had been writing songs all day. Paul's dog, Nunavut, was more spunky than usual. Nunavut had been having slower days, but that day seemed to be a good day for him. He seemed happy, and he had been outside three times. When the members of New Religion finished their songs, they decided to go to the studio. Nunavut brought Paul his food bowl. Paul said, "I'll feed you when I get back, all right, Nunavut?" Nunavut wagged his tail in response. After recording a few songs, the members of New Religion returned to their house. Paul decided to feed Nunavut, and the band's mascot, Fritz. When Paul filled the bowls, Fritz immediately came running. Nunavut did not come. Paul called out, "Nunavut, where are you?" Nunavut didn't even make a sound. Paul searched throughout the house. Just when he was about to give up, he saw Nunavut lying next to his bed. Paul said, "Nunavut, I got your dinner ready. Are you going to get up?" Nunavut didn't stir. Paul went closer. "Nunavut?" Still nothing. As Paul looked closer, he saw that Nunavut wasn't breathing. Paul touched his beloved dog, but he was stiff. Paul wept like he hadn't wept in ages. Erin ran into Paul's bedroom and asked, "Are you okay?" Paul looked up and shook his head. He said, "Nunavut has passed. He must've died while we were at the studio." Erin said, "I'm so sorry, Paul." He said, "It's my fault. I should've fed him." She said, "It's not your fault, Paul. Nunavut was old and tired. He was ready." Paul continued to cry. Carl and Lola came in, and they expressed sympathy. Carl asked, "What are you going to do with Nunavut?" Paul said, "I'm going to have him cremated." Although his mates tried to tell him otherwise, Paul still believed that Nunavut's death was his fault.

I am feeling much better today. I don't feel great, but I feel much better than I did a few days ago. I was able to go to school today. Michael, Sabrina, and Bridget helped me get caught up in my classes. I'm lucky to have such good friends. Of course, I did feel a bit tired after finishing my homework. I took a nap for a while. When I woke up, it was almost 6:00 pm. I didn't realize I had slept that long. When dinner time came, I ate really well. I didn't feel like eating much for the past couple of days. My appetite has returned. I think I will go to bed early tonight. I'm feeling pretty tired right now. I'm not completely better, but I'm close to it.

Summer Vacation has been great so far. While I've been enjoying school more since I've gained a couple of friends, it's nice to have a break from it. I also received some exciting news. On July 9, I am going to be in Chicago to see The Devil Wants Peace in concert! I was so excited when my uncle told me he was able to afford the tickets. I later told my friend, Michael, "You should have seen me when my uncle told me the good news. I was jumping up and down, crying tears of joy." Normally, I'm not that excitable, but The Devil Wants Peace is one of my favorite bands. Since I was six, I dreamed of seeing them live, and now, I can stop dreaming. This dream is becoming a reality. I don't know if I'll be lucky enough to meet them, but the fact that I'm lucky enough to see them is great.
