That evening, Everett picked up Una from her home and took her to the bus station to meet Kaitlyn. Una scanned the passengers as they got off, trying to figure out which one looked like she would have the role of Everett's sister, but she didn't get the chance to guess before a voice cried out, "Hey, big brother!" and a young woman ran forward to throw her arms around Everett.
"Hey, little sister!" He returned her hug and took her heavy duffel bag from her, lifting it onto his own shoulder.
Everett turned to Una and opened his mouth, but before he could introduce her Kaitlyn said, "I bet I know who you are. Everett talks about his girlfriend all the time! The actress, right?"
Una nodded proudly. Kaitlyn grinned. "Well, Everett says it's only a matter of time before you get top billing in Hollywood."
Everett blushed - "Come on, Kait!" - but he didn't deny it.
The three made their way to Everett's car, with Kaitlyn chatting away to Una as she seemed very interested in getting to know Everett's girlfriend. "I've wanted to meet you for ages. Everett says the nicest things about you!"
Una laughed. "Would you believe he only just told me about you? But you too; he said the nicest things about your whole family."
Kaitlyn grinned. "I don't want to be the little sister who pushes her brother and his girlfriend too quickly, but - if our family is going to be seeing more of you, I think you'll like it there."
Una felt warm inside. "Yes," she said, "I think I will."
