I found this amazing S/P related article and I thought of posting it here! It's a bit old, but totally worth it!
THE BIG BANG THEORY-PENNY'S LOVE LIFE: LEONARD,SHELDON OR KERT?
by Jackie Scnoop
Ah, Penny. If not for Penny, the boys of The Big Bang Theory would be lacking the aspect of quasi-normality. With the exception of paying for her apartment with her meager waitress monies while Sheldon and Leonard share a similar apartment with professional salaried incomes, she’s normal. She’s pretty, too. Not only that, but she’s witty and surprisingly smart for merely attending a community college. Of course, her presence makes the men swoon. But which guy is the right one for her?
We can eliminate a few right off the bat. No Howard Wolowitz. We know how that attempt went down. I don’t dislike Penny and I don’t want to see that catastrophe all over again. No Raj. Unless he can get to the point that he can actually talk to her without being drunk or squeaking, no way.
When the show started out, she was Leonard’s love interest, albeit unrequited. She had her thug ex-boyfriend on steroids, Kurt, going out the door. Now, you really have to throw the somewhat asexual, doesn’t know how to handle friends without a written set of rules, possibly android-esque Sheldon in the mix, too. Their relationship has been steadily growing.
In tonight’s episode, she thinks Kurt is coming around and is going to have a date with him. No, Penny! Run, Penny! As fast as you can! He’s a huge thug who answers his door with a beer in his hand! He really should be wearing a wifebeater and have some stains down the front of it, too. Oh … and the folks from Cops should be hanging around with their boom mikes. He’s bad news. He’s so not boyfriend material!
Kurt only seemed to be coming around thanks to Leonard’s sense of chivalry. So, he cares deeply about Penny (as we all know) and he’s chivalrous, too. Is he the man for Penny? I don’t think so. They’re great friends, but I’m not seeing any chemistry there at all.
My choice for Penny’s love interest? Sheldon, naturally. Hey, he’s not unattractive. I realize he’s not the most macho dude on the scene. (Yeah, Raj might be more macho than Sheldon.) But they do have a chemistry — perhaps a brother and sister one, but that could be worked on. Sheldon was willing to kick Raj out of his friends and keep Penny when he thought five friends were too many. Tonight he gave Penny money to pay her bills without a second thought. When he has a question, who does he seek out? Penny. She likes him, too. Remember the Christmas present, the napkin with Leonard Nimoy’s DNA? How thoughtful was that?
I can see Sheldon shyly holding hands with her, but not understanding why he’s doing it. A first kiss? New experiences! Um … of course, if it doesn’t work out, they might have to vanish Penny in the same manner they did with Jennifer and Kripke. POOF.
We don’t want that.

I find it so awesome that ppl write articles like this one on the internet! And did you notice the use of "naturally"?? The writer sees it as the natural choice! It just makes sense when you see them together! It's hard to miss the spark! And no matter what happens on the show, it's good to know that we're not crazy for shipping them!
