My alarm clock woke me up with its usual annoying, beeping sound. I had to get up. But my blue bed was too comfortable on the freezing January day.

In a way I missed Camp Half Blood. Ever Since I turned 18, they said I was trained enough to leave. Annabeth and I decided to go to college together. She wanted to go to a huge fancy school like Yales, but we didn't have enough money. We decided that I was gonna go to Pratt so that Annabeth could go to the Rochester Institute of Technology to become an architect. I didn't know what I was gonna be, but all I knew was that no matter what I became, Annabeth was gonna be in my life.
The small apartment that I shared with Zachary Carroll, a son of Hermes, Ron Zanson, and Nico was always crammed with junk. I got up to go to the bathroom but my way was blocked by a gigantic basket of laundry. I looked into the living room where Nico sat playing modern warfare with Zach.
I shrugged and kicked the basket out of my way. I worked as the manager of a McDonalds in my area. Today was Saturday and Annabeth and I had a date so work was gonna be all morning.
After I took a shower, and pulled on the red and yellow McDonalds clothing I reached into the fridge for some breakfast. All there was was a half full carton of milk, an apple, and some pot pies.
"Dude, wheres all the food?" I yelled to Nico and Zach behind me. I didn't really get an answer, but I did hear the sound of guns and Nico yelling,
"YEAH!! YOU'VE GONE TO HADES NOW!!"" He yelled.
"Shut up!!" I yelled, grabbing the apple and heading out.
The January air bit my face and I almost froze to death. Winter in New York is not pretty.
I hopped into my old beat up truck and drove down to McDonalds. I passed Annabeth's Apartment on the way.
I couldn't wait for tonight. I promised Annabeth that we would go to the Natural History Museum and see some Greek stuff. She loved that place and could stay for hours just taking notes.
For a couple hours at McDonalds I felt like I was about to die. The smell of greasy French fries and coffee was starting to get to me. When the clock said I had an hour till end of shift, I almost broke out in dance.
Suddenly, I heard a scream towards the back of the building. It sounded like Rachel. I started to run out to find out what was happening, but Tyson blocked my path.
"Tyson what are you doing here?!?!" I asked.
"Percy have to leave. Annabeth in trouble. Big snake take her."
