Bloodsoul: Guys, come look at Moonsong's kits!
Before anybody could get close to the nursery, a loud wail was heard from it. Bloodsoul yelled a wait and dashed inside. Even though Warriors did not normally go in there when there was trouble, Bloodsoul was a very good friend of Moonsong. She just had to go in.
Bloodsoul: What is it Moonsong?
Moonsong wailed a little more and then spoke.
Moonsong: Look at my kits! Two of them are dead!
Bloodsoul peered down at the three kits. Sure enough two were dead. They were two grey tabbys, eyes pure blue. But one still remained. A smaller kit, a brown tom with green eyes, was still breathing.
Bloodsoul: Ferndapple! Come here!
Ferndapple heard the loud call, and walked over to the nursery.
Bloodsoul: Two of them are dead.
Bloodsoul nudged the two dead kits. Yep, clearly dead. Ferndapple picked them up and after a few hours, came back.
Ferndapple: They are buried. The Clan will forever miss the two kits who didn't get a life.
Ferndapple's mouth started to twitch, as if she wanted to mourn in agony, but she stopped herself.
Ferndapple: This is all my fault. If I had stayed here longer, those kits would n-not b-be dead...
Bloodsoul went up and comforted Ferndapple.
Bloodsoul: It's OK Ferndapple, you didn't know.
Ferndapple let that though sink in. She felt a bit better. Then she paid more attention to the brown kit laying near Moonsong's stomach. Then she lightly touched him. A small noise came from the kit.
Ferndapple: Yep, he's alive. Just keep doing what you're doing Moonsong.
Moonsong: O-Ok Ferndapple.
Bloodsoul spoke to Moonsong before leaving.
Bloodsoul: What-
Bloodsoul was interrupted as Ferndapple announced outside that nobody was allowed to come in for a while. Bloodsoul started again.
Bloodsoul: What are you going to name him?
Moonsong: Hillkit.
Bloodsoul: Well then, May StarClan bless his soul, and give him the full live of a Warrior.
Then Bloodsoul left. He reapeated this over and over in his head:
He'll live, because he has the love of the best mom in the world.
