he's okay to me

He was my first favorite anime character and I've looked up to him for a long time!

He's kinda stupid at times.

nah, saw him as such the beginning or at least the end of the johto league. and you're only saying that, from what I've seen of your comments) since you hate anything post Misty. could be wrong or I could be right, either way I don't care enough to argue on this matter.

I wasn't addressing you, I was speaking in general. I don't see what Misty has to do with this. Besides I was talking about him in the new Pokemon with Iris and whatever that green haired annoying dudes name is. He actually forgot he had to weaken the pokemon to catch them. SERIOUSLY? HE'S BEEN DOING THIS FOR 13 SEASONS AND SUDDENLY HE FORGETS! He was still likeable in the Pokemon that had May and the one with Dawn he was just okay.

I assumed it that was addressed towards me due to, 'annoying and pathetic' the exact same adjectives I used to describe him. The green haired annoying dude is called Cilan(just wanted to say that). You could say Ash's intelligence itself changes on an episodically basis or as a plot device, he lacks intelligence normally anyways.

I could say that further the series went away from Misty being in it correlates to how much you disliked Ash.
Misty was constant=Ash was awesome(random adjective since I don't know how you saw him during this period)
Misty was in it for awhile=Ash is good
Misty referenced, the fishing hook he got from her,= Ash is ok
Misty not in at all(haven't seen the series since Battle Dimension to clarify)=Ash is annoying and pathetic.

Again I could be wrong here and lack evidence to say otherwise, and I did that assumption because I needed something to distract me.

Actually didn't plan to post again and hoping I don't have to most more then 2 more times.

I never really found Ash smart anyway, he's my second favorite character on the show but he's actually kind of stupid. But I will admit I did steal the words annoying and pathetic from you but I wasn't trying to use it against you. I just think the show has gotten alot cheesier and fake that it's rubbed off on Ash. He just got more bland. Besides there were times when he was really annoying even when Misty was around.

I would be surprised if people did find Ash to be smart tbh, pretty much goes against his characteristics. Least that explains the adjectives lol. To me nothings changed with the anime, yeah you can re-skin the companions and characters each season but nothing is different plot wise(largely), each trope and gag gets used again each region that it gets boring. To me Ash was always annoying, tbh I find half the cast annoying with only some characters I like.

He is funny, he is adventurous- yes, agree with this! He got a good heart, a true friend, he is brave! He definitely is a good main hero! And also he maybe stupid sometimes but he was never annoying to me! Overall, Ash is an awesome person! No one a better main hero than him! :D

And yeah, he is cute! xo
