I walked behind dad so longing for the days where I was required to hold his hand. Alina walked still pouting and holding mothers hand much to dad's displeasure. Dad had a bald spot on his head like grandpa that Uncle Harry always made fun of. The only person that could really make dad come out of his shell was Uncle Harry. I always stayed on my dad's side and called him "ginger" for he had red hair. I walked beside my dad and sat beside him.

"Dad can you please make the speech?"

"Diana please not today."

"Dad I don't want to please."

"Fine I'll make your speech."

"I love you more than anything dad."

"Anyone dear."

"No anything."

He looked at me and smiled "I love you too sweet heart" and then he kissed my head and said "well I have to make my speech now."

"You'll be wonderful daddy."

He smiled at me and said "dear calm down."

"But you will be you just will be."

He smiled widely and said "thank you Diana."

I beamed at him and turned to mom and kissed her cheek "I love you mom."

"Love you too" she said touching my soft blonde hair.

Dad stood at the podium and began to talk about the war the was probably about to take place her between us and Russia I felt squashed by the word he said and very fearful. He came back and sat down and hid my face behind him.

He too touched my hair and said "your hairs so soft like my mothers."

I could hear the sadness in his voice and placed my head on his shoulder "she was beautiful daddy."

"Yes she was" he said.

"Was she grand?"

"Oh yes she was quite grand such a lovely personality and so beautiful she looked like you except for your eyes those are your grandmother Elizabeth's."

"I wish I had her eyes."

"Oh no I didn't mean anything by the except your grandmother had rather lovely breath taking eyes too just like you."

I said "you got pretty eyes too daddy your very handsome."

He touched my hand and said "you have very lovely skin Diana no wonder all the young men here are taken aback by you."

I turned bright red and said "I wish they weren't I wish I were just a normal teenager just like them."

"I used to wish that too Diana."

"All the young woman were taken with you when you were fourteen."

"Yes they were and I found it both flattering and frightening."

I giggled and said "probably more frightening right."

"Sometimes yes" he grinned.

Grandpa Charles stood up and said "well me and Camilla are going to go in the car this time."

Dad nodded and stood up and said "go talk to Joshua real quick and get in the carriage."

I nodded and hugged dad when I heard a huge screech and crash.

Dad saw it before I did and pulled me back out of the way. The car crashed into the stage and several screams were shouted a loud commotion began and police hurriedly moved me and dad out off the way.

I then saw it, the car, it was the one Camilla and Charles had been in and it was obvious then and there, Charles was dead, daddy was king, and I was next in-line. We were going to live in Buckingham-Palace forever.
