If "in the Beginning" (Genesis 1:1) has only been about 6,000 years ago. How does billions of years fit between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2?
If the Gap Theory is true there would have to be another Adam, another Eve, another Garden of Eden, and another Creation? The KJV Bible only talks of one Creation, one Adam, one Eve, and one Garden of Eden. Jesus Christ Himself never mentioned another Creation, Garden of Eden or Adam.
If the Gap Theory was true there would not be modern animals in the fossil record. But there are! The fossil record has modern birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and dinosaurs together in fossils found in the sedimentary rock layers.
If the Gap Theory is true there would have been death in the world before Adam. But there was no death until after Adam sinned (Romans 5:12).If the Gap Theory is true then the re-creation would be flawed and could not be "very good" on the sixth day of Creation.
If the Gap Theory is true the Sun, Moon, and stars would of already been created before day four. but they were not created by God unto the fourth day of Creation week (Genesis 1:14-19.
If the Gap Theory is true there would not be any "polystrate" fossils found. But there has been! These are fossils that are found through many layers of rock strata,
If the Gap Theory is true the earth would of had an atmosphere already around it. The atmosphere according to Scripture was created on the second day of Creation week (Genesis 1:6-8).
If the Gap Theory is true. God would not have to create fish, they would of been already created. But fish and other sea life were created on the fifth day of Creation week (Genesis 1:20-23).
Conclusion : There was only one Creation and it lasted six days of creation week. To believe in a gap between the Scriptures in Genesis 1:1-2, you would have to believe in a universe and earth that are billions upon billions of years old. You would have to believe that the Geologic column is true and that God used evolution. To believe in the Gap Theory, man tries to harmonize Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2 with popular belief that geologists provide "undeniable evidence" that the world is exceedingly old (billions of years). The Gap Theory is a false man-made doctrine that rides on the back of the evolution high horse giving credence to it. There is "no" Scripture in the Bible that supports the Gap Theory.
