“Oh dear goodness I am late!” Zoey yelled as she was getting dressed. Kasey, who was a tabby cat, watched in confusion. “Please tell me why you’re late,” He said while lowering his ears. “I just want to know.” She didn’t have time to explain as she was already dressed. After a quick good bye, she shut the door. The poor cat just stood there, staring at the door with a blank expression. He then sighed slowly while sinking down to the floor.
At the speed of light, Zoey ran through the busy streets of town. “I hope I’m not too late!” She said in her mind. Repeating the same thing five times through her head, she started feeling worried. She hoped that her boyfriend, Mark, wouldn’t be upset that she didn’t arrive on time. When she made it to the movies, she finally managed to slow down and fell to the ground with a deep sigh. “Why do I always do this?” She moaned. A little while later, she managed to relax and sat on a bench.
Luckily, Mark didn’t witness the whole thing. Zoey was delighted, for she didn’t want any embarrassment at this moment. She looked at her watch and started getting a little concerned. “I wonder where he could be,” She said while looking at the left and right. “No. I cannot just leave here. He told me to wait by the entrance, so I better stay put.” It wasn’t very long when Mark finally showed. Zoey got up with excitement and made her way to him. “I’m very sorry for the late arrival,” Mark said while scratching the back of his head. “Something came up at the kendo club and I had to take care of it.” “Was it something bad?” Zoey asked with concern. Mark chuckled while responding, “It’s nothing really.” After chatting for a few seconds, they went inside the movies.
When the movie was over, it was getting late. Zoey stretched her arms as she gave a big sigh. When Mark approached from behind, she quickly turned to him while giggling. “What do you say we go get a bite to eat?” Mark asked. Realizing that she didn’t eat any breakfast or lunch, Zoey nodded quickly. They had dinner together, which in Zoey’s case, was a breathtaking and wonderful evening. Hours after that, she was in her room, lying on the bed. Kasey was sleeping next to her. Before long, Zoey’s eyes quickly opened as a reaction of shock was seen in her eyes. “Oh no! My assignment! I forgot to do my assignment!” She burst into tears as she slumped to the floor. Kasey got up and approached her while saying, “Zoey, don’t cry. I’m going to help you.” Her tears were gone and her frown changed to a smile.
Thanks to his help, Zoey was able to get her assignment done quickly and perfectly. The next morning, while she was on her way to school, she bumped into someone while her assignment was ruined. “Hey! You big bully! I worked so hard on that assignment! You can’t treat people this way!” Her words made the stranger very, very angry. It was a male who was very tall, wore torn up clothing and had a beard on his chin. Zoey was scared for life that both her cat ears and tail popped out. She was now in a heap of trouble. Suddenly, something snatched her and vanished into thin air which confused the stranger. Hiding in a dark ally was Zoey, who was trying to relax herself while her ears and tail were still visible. When she was able to relax, she started wondering who or what rescued her.
Through the darkness within the ally, she could only see the form of a young girl. At first she was puzzled because in her head she wondered, “How could a little girl save my life?” When the figure stepped out of the darkness, she realized that the one who rescued her was in fact Kikki. “Hiya Zoey!” She exclaimed with happiness. After getting up, Zoey brushed the dirt off her school uniform and turned to Kikki. “Um, thank you for helping me back there.” She said. Kikki, who is always filled with happiness, said it was no problem. “Well, I have to get to school now,” Zoey said while grabbing her school bag. “I will see you at the café.” Before she left, Kikki grabbed her wrist. She tried to pull as hard as she could but there was no luck. With a sigh, she turned and asked, “What is it now?”
“I actually came to find you,” Kikki said. “So that I could deliver a message from Elliot and Wesley. They said for you to come directly to the café after school and that if you even dare try to sneak away I and the others will track you down and bring you there.” Zoey sighed with disbelief. “You’ve got to be kidding me! Why would those two say such things to me?! Do they actually take me for a fool or something??” Through her complaining, Kikki was doing some tricks using the garbage cans that stood in the ally way. A little while later, Zoey was seen walking through town, sulking. Her reason for sulking was perfectly clear. “Everyday it’s the same nonsense- they force me to work, force me to fight aliens and I get no credit or breaks from doing it all. Why must my life be like this? I would do anything to fix all of this.” She continued to sulk through school as her two friends, Megan and Mimi, tried wondering what was troubling her. Even though they were her best friends, she refused to tell them.
As the first hour of school ended, Zoey decided to have a little alone time out on the top sector of the school. She gazed at the view of the distant town as she sighed deeply. The breeze was so calm that she felt like closing her eyes and going to sleep. Before she could, a familiar voice was heard not far away. “Zoey!” It said. She quickly got her head up, turned it around slowly and blushed a tad as Mark was not far from her. “Oh goodness,” She said in her mind. “It’s Mark! I can’t let him see me depressed. What do I do? I can’t lie to him.” As he approached her, she tried her hardest to come up with a plan. When she was able to think of something she scratched the back of her head while giggling. “What are you doing out here alone?” Mark asked. After giggling a little more, Zoey stared at him. “I uh, I wasn’t alone up here. My uh-uh friends just went down to get lunch.” Mark gave her a sweet smile while gently pulling her close to him. He gave her a nice, little hug at which her face was completely red.
When school was over, Zoey’s emotions surprisingly changed and if there was only one person who did it, it was Mark. She skipped through town happily. Upon approaching the café, she tried to change her emotions at lease a tad so that it wouldn’t seem to disturbing for Elliot and the others. “I’m here.” She said while opening the door. Everyone was in the main room, waiting. “You’re late.” Elliot groaned. Not wanting to make a scene, she giggled a little while scratching the back of her head. “Are you alright?” Bridget asked with concern. “Don’t worry about me,” Zoey responded. “I’m alright really. So, what is this meeting about?” Before they started, she had to change into her work uniform. After she did, they all gathered in one of the tables. “Wesley and I have been talking and we think you all deserve a nice vacation.” Elliot said. The girls stared at him with surprise. “Really?” Bridget asked while smiling. “Why now? We’re at the busiest time of the week. Couldn’t we do it another time?” Zoey asked. “The decision has been final,” Elliot respond. “We have bought five tickets for each of you. You will be going to the Kri-Kawa Springs, which is located beyond the woodlands.” Everyone except Zoey and Renee were quite excited.
With a surprise trip underway, poor Zoey could only act miserably. “I don’t want to go!” She whined. Kasey, who was now a beagle, could only sigh while shaking his head. “Zoey, Zoey, Zoey. You have got to stop this. I don’t see what the big deal is. You guys deserve it after all.” Instead of being nice, she could only be rude and yell at him. Not wanting to go through the drama, he quickly hid under the bed and never came out. Zoey ended up going to bed in a very bad mood. While sleeping, her mind suddenly realized that taking a vacation wouldn’t be a bad thing. But how to explain it to Mark was going to be difficult. Dealing with homework was also going to be hard. She had a lot to think about and it would possibly take the whole night and morning to figure it out.
