I think you have those reversed. Mellie and Jake are Republicans. Francisco is the Democratic candidate.

It makes sense that Scandal will do a time jump and just get to the election night stuff and aftermath.However if Scandal premiered in the Fall and not mid-season they may not have done the time jump

Anyone else remember that back in season 2, maybe early season three, Shonda came out and said once Fitz leaves office there wouldn’t be a show? I wish that were still true.

Has there ever been a show to be this red hot fun to watch and then completely tank? What’s there to get excited about this upcoming season? Sadly, I haven’t heard anything that would make me want to tune in when it finally does return.

So Scandal pretty much admits that all that election battle build-up was for nothing? This show has become an absolute mess.
