Demons like to watch TV and Yomi is no exception, putting his physic antenna to good use spends his evenings wasting away in front of the Tube. Airing that evening was his favorite station’s newest program Human World Paranormal Challenge starring the enigmatic four demon group, Shawn, Paul, Victor and Danni, three of Yomi’s friends and a mazoku in a hit human world-paranormal investigator-investigation parody series on DTV, “television for demons”.

It was an average day of work at the office, Yomi just got home to his top floor palace in the central high rise building in his city of Gandara. After a long hot shower he dressed himself in his finest robe gabbed a cocktail and his remote control and sat down on his white deeply cushioned sofa, just in time for his favorite television channel to air its newest premiere.
Tonight’s premier was a show he had been anticipating for some time, since it was conceived in the pent house of his country estate in the eastern hills of his country, his brother and several of his friends were talking about experiences they had with humans they’ve encountered by chance or accident. How a demon encounters a human by accident is anyone’s guess but apparently one, a demon named Shawn, who was actually an old acquaintance of Yomi’s did.
Shawn was from the old days, the bandit days when Yomi was partners with Kurama. He was just a bit player, but somehow had managed to keep in touch with Yomi over the years, which lead him to a friendship with Ishmar Yomi’s only brother.
Shawn spoke of an encounter he had with a mortal, that as he said it happened entirely by accident, this is the story as he put it—“about ten years ago I was running along just coming back from (oh just any ole place) and I swear dude this human just came out of nowhere. I almost ran the poor guy over. Dude you should have seen his face he was as white as a ghost, ha ha ha. But the guy didn’t run away, he just stood perfectly still just staring at me like he was in shock. Then he just shouted out all at once at me—Holy Shit! You’re not fucking human are you? This human was just a scrawny guy, with glasses. I was thinking dweeb when I first saw him, but then he spoke and this guy was loud. And then when I took off the son-of-a-bitch started chasing after me, like he thought he could catch me or something, I was like what the fuck!” He laughed. The guys got to talking, and that night came up with the concept that eventually would become the DTV’s new premier series Human World Paranormal Challenge.
Basically the concept revolved around this, four years after the encounter a paranormal team of investigators did a nationwide sweep, interviewing all and anyone they could who claimed to have had a paranormal experience. This man, otherwise known as Andie Viccan, the human Shawn called the dweeb was one of the humans they interviewed, because the interview he presented was so enigmatic and compelling the investigators invited Andie to join them on one of their investigation. They would later come to regret that offer.
Andie was a complete success, it was discovered that he had a gift for communing with spirits and had a natural magnetism for wayward demons that also haunted the locations they investigated. After their show aired featuring Andie on the Paranormal Channel he received a television offer to costar on a show with another inspiring investigator, Pete Daring, a show he would eventually take over. Andie accepted and that, pretty much, was the beginning of the long running hit series Andie’s Quest, to See from the Eyes of a Ghost. The series was airing its fifth season when Shawn told his friends about the encounter he had with Andie Viccan, a newly arisen human TV celebrity in the field of the paranormal.
In the interview Andie told the investigators that discovered him of the encounter he had with Shawn. Not surprisingly, as they were to learn, it wasn’t his first experience with the supernatural having grown up at his grandmothers century old country ranch where seven members of his family died in the course of the last 25 years and even more before then going back to the times of the Civil War. It was the story about his encounter with Shawn that proved the most proactive and eventually lunched his career, a former nobody, as a world famous TV celebrity. Shawn thought this was outrageous, calling it exploitation among other things that were not so nice. It was him, Ishmar, and three others they all agreed that humans getting famous over exposing evidence of their world were upsetting and so in their own way sought to get revenge. They would film them and air their findings live on demon world television. And so arming themselves with cameras and recording devices sought out these humans and began filming.
It was the beginning of a new field of practice, the policing field of monitoring and the observation of paranormal investigators. The pilot live broad cast was entitled Andie Viccan, To See Through the Eyes of a Human, and was an instant success. DTV promoted the series and it was done, the series Human World Paranormal Challenge was on the way.
Yomi was contacted by the producers for permission to allow the film makers close proximity to the human world so they may film their live broad cast. He allowed it on the terms that they contact him should any problem in regard to Demon’s World Law arise during the filming of any of their investigations. With his cell phone by his side and cocktail in hand Yomi sat back, as the show began.
“And tonight DTV presents the premiere of Human World Paranormal Challenge, staring Human World Paranormal Investigator-Investigation investigators Shawn, Paul, Victor, and Danni…” Yomi smirked as the images of his friends appeared on the screen for the first time. They looked both ridiculous and adorable so much that it touched his heart, and the show began.
