I used to be the very same but when I sang infront of my friends cuz they think im a good singer I don't know why but when I did I sang infront of them with my eyes closed alright I felt like a complete TWAT but still it worked or just try practicing infront of a mirror if when your singing to your reflection but imagine it as like say a fan you build up your confidence and it helps with singing in crowds hope this is any bit helpfull

Just close your eyes, or focus on a point in the wall, and think you're alone in your bedroom, or in a big stage!

well, I do not have that problem. what you should do, is start singing in the mirror. after that your family and friends. if you sing in curch, it makes thing easyer cause no one ca hear you. then just sing everything everywhere

practice in the mirror, then blast your ipod so you know no one can hear you. Or turn your tv on so you don't feel embarresed about singing. Have fun with it!

If your singing in front of a lot of people then just pick out your friend and look at them, it makes it a TON easier.

Don't focus your eyes on the audience. When you see all the peeps watching you, it makes you even MORE nervous and your singing can go all wonky. Believe me, I didn't follow this advice and looked at the audience and then I was so nervous that I couldn't sing and lost because it was a talent show audition. :(

I used to get horrible stage fright, even to think about singing in front of my friends! Then my voice teacher gave me this awesome trick to calm my nerves. It's called EFT, and there's a longer way to do it and a shorter way. Both work well. The short way is:
As you say to yourself something along the lines of 'It will be fine, I'll sound great', etc., tap the side of your pinky finger about ten times. Still talking to yourself, tap the side of your ring-finger, followed by the side of your index finger, followed by the side of your thumb. Then tap the side of your hand (like where you would karate-chop something). This should really calm you down. It might also help if you close your eyes while you do this.
If you do this a couple minutes before you sing, you should be fine. If you want to know the long way, you can google EFT.

Good Luck!

everybody gets scared infront of big crowds. even i do. EVERYONE does. its acculy good to get scared before you go and perform. cause then you know that everone does and your not the only one.but in other words..... "nothin to it but to do it!" it cant be any easier than that. thats the only thing you need to do. and i garentee to you, that you will be amzing!

Well it depends. Is singing your hobby or your passion? If it's your hobby then it's normal to be uncomfortable singing in front of people. But if singing is your passion and it's something you love then it shouldn't matter who you're singing in front of. It's your passion and you want to let the whole world know what you can do. Hope this helps! :)

If you have two crazy older brothers I can help. Tell them to watch you while they are in thier boxers then you'll think ok, it's not that bad. If you are an only child or you can't do it close your door, pull down your pants, go in front of a mirror then sing your heart out!

It worked for me and both of my brothers, it's simple but odd...

Try not to think of the reactions of the crowd.
Just sing as you would other times.
I usually not stare at anyone in the crowd. That helps me.

I don't know if it says this above, I didn't read it all.
What I do is imagine the audience in their underwear.
No. I don't do that.
I pretend to be confident. The trick is: if you look like you know what you're doing and are having fun. Mostly, people won't even notice if you do make a mistake. It's easier to make a mistake when you are worrying about it.
I don't get as nervous much anymore. I just get excited. When I started singing in front of audiences I would just stand there really still and not move. As I got more confident I started to move and smile, etc. It really has improved my performance.
Hope that helps.

Whenever I sing, I imagine whatever the emotions relate to. When a love song is on, I think of my crush or boyfriend, when a dancing song is on, imagine you dancing in your room! That's how I do it!

I have been singing for a really long time. It has never been super hard for me but I've always thought that was because of the people I know. I've been singing in groups since kindergarten and I love nothing more than being onstage. I think the best advice I have for you is to try and find a group to sing with. Once you get more confident all you have to do is remember that there are people who sang with you that believe in you. I found that for most of my friends that worked really well. My best friend used to not go near a stage and now she loves it almost as much as me.
