It's Complicated Chapter Twenty Four
I could not believe Jasper was sitting all the way through lunch listening to what happen last night. I was wondering if he heard everything I said. Or if I was talking way to fast.
"Am I talking to fast," I asked.
"Nope, I am keeping up," he said, "but can I ask a question?"
"Sure go a head," I said.
"Okay, what would you think if I taught you how to sign," he asked kind of scared to ask, "I mean, it would be somewhat easier for me. You do not have to learn if you do not want to!"
"I think that would be cool," I said, "And if it makes it easier for you to understand, then I will learn."
"Cool thank you," he said.
"Would you like to come over and do homework at my house," I asked, "you could teach sign language to me there."
"Yeah, I will ask my mom and dad," he said, "may I let you know by the end of the day?"
"Yep," I said.
"Do you have a cell phone number," he asked.
"No, Billy is kind of old fashion," I said a little embarrassed, "only a house phone. I can give you that number."
"Oh okay," he said a little disappointed, "I cannot hear a phone call."
"Oh right," I said stupidly, "I am sorry that I keep forgetting. It just does not register. And I you speak so well!"
"Thank you, years of speech class," he said.
"You know what, I will see if Billy will let me get a cell phone so we can talk," I said.
"I hate for you to do that," Jasper said.
"No, it is fine," I said after the bell rang, "I want one, now that I have friend. What is the sign for the bell."
"It is this," he said as he signed 'bell',.
"Oh," I said as I signed 'belled', "the bell rang!"
"Very good," he smiled.
"Thanks," I said, "let's get to class."
After classes was over, we only had a couple of classes to go until we could go home. Jasper was possible coming over. If he could get something settled with his parents. He said it would be the end of school he would know for sure.
It was time for gym, one of my favorite parts of school. We were playing basketball. I was excited. The girls had an even number while the boys had an odd number. I told the gym teacher that I was willing to play on the guys team to make it even. He was skeptical at first but finally caved.
"Hey Lila, why are you playing over here," Jasper asked confused.
"The girls team was even and the guys team had an odd number so I opted to play with you all." I said.
"Okay cool," he said, "good luck!"
"No thanks, I do not think I will need it," I said laughing.
"Okay, you guys know the rules," the gym teacher said, "so I expect you all to go by them!"
It had been five minutes into the game and I had not even got a single pass. I had been open the whole time! The guys were a little bit higher than me but I did not let it get to me.
"I am open," I yelled.
A guy passed me the ball and I went straight up the middle and did a lay up. All the guys tried to jump up and swipe it from the basket but it was to late. A number of elbows came back down onto my face. I felt an elbow come towards my mouth. But before I could do anything I felt my lip split open.
"Shoot." I muttered.
"Lila, are you okay," the gym teacher ask kind of concerned.
"I am fine, just a little blood," I shrugged even though it had hurt a lot.
Some of the guys gave me a high five for the basket.
The other team had the ball now. I was block a guy that was at least 5'9. He got passed the ball; I quickly snatched it from his hands and started off towards our goal.
"Watch out," someone yelled.
"Behind you," another said.
But it was to late. He came to my right side and plowed into me as he stole the ball.
I fell face first onto the gym floor. My forehead breaking the fall. I felt it at least bounce twice.
"Girls do not belong on the court," he said as I grabbed my head.
I felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment as I laid on the gym floor. I was holding my head, it hurt so bad.
"Lila, are you okay," the gym teacher asked slightly annoyed.
I sat up was kind of dizzy. Not only had the guys stopped playing basketball. But also the girls, which meant all eyes on me.
I let go of my head with left hand to check for blood. I hoping that there was not any. But there was.
"Yeah, just some blood," I shrugged.
"Go to the nurse," he demanded.
"But I am fine," I said.
"No, go now," he demanded harshly.
I got up and stormed out the gym. I slammed the door open and made my way to the nurses' office.
"Hey Lila, are you okay," Jasper asked as I heard the gym door open.
"Yeah, just some blood," I said.
"You sure," he asked not buying it, "you look like you are pain."
"Just a little; it was a hard fall," I said.
"Why don't we leave and go to my hospital," Jasper said, "I can page my dad and we can go right back!"
"It is just a few cuts," I shrugged.
"Then why not go," Jasper stated.
"Okay, let's go," I said.
"Cool you are riding with me," he said, "there is no way I am letting you drive when you have hit your head that hard."
"Okay," I said laughing.

Harmony's POV
We got our drinks and I took a few sips. I thought I heard someone mention my name.
"Did someone say my name," I asked Clay.
"I don't know," he said.
"I would love get a piece of that," someone said to their friend.
"Hey, don't talk about my sister like that," Clay said demanding.
I did not really understand what he meant. Piece of what?
"Freedom of speech bud," he said as he shoved Clay backwards.
Clay and the guy started going at it. Then the guy's friend joined in. Well, that was not to fair to Clay. I decided to join in. I knew I didn't...

Hometown Chapter Eight
Well we lost the game tonight. Not a shocker there. It was a sad game. We didn't even score a point. Thankfully, I didn't even get put in. Dad didn't show up for the game which I am thankful for. That would have been pointless.
I followed the guys to the locker room. I was determined to get these pads off. I had never seen a girl wear any type protective gear like this. I had to wear what the guys wore. It didn't bother me. But these things were hot when I was just sitting there. I couldn't imagine actually running and sweating in them.
I had to admit changing with the guys...

It's Complicated Chapter Forty Four
After dance class Troy and Ella went to go change. I sat my phone down beside me and slowly took out my hearing aides. Everyone had left so, I tried to dance like they did tonight. I even tried their ballerina moves at the bars. I wanted to attempt to dance like Ella. She was so graceful. But I want to dance like Troy; his dances were full of energy! They were amazing when you put them together. It would be cool to dance with them someday. But, I doubt that would ever happen.
I saw something out of the corner of my eye and looked over at Gloria waving her hand....

Clay's POV
The chute door flew open and the bull barely got out of the chute before he started spinning in a circle. It didn't take him long to buck Harmony off. I was already in the arena trying to get the bull away from her but it was no use. He was charging at Harmony who continued to lie there not moving.
"Get up," I yelled.
I whistled as I tried to get the bulls attention. But he charged at her and scrubbed his head into her legs. She still wasn't moving. I whistled at the bull again and waved my arms. I ran for the top of the chutes as the...

Clay's POV
The chores this morning were not too fun. I was exhausted and the day was just now starting. Everyone was soaked to the bone and it was chilly for a summer morning. Maybe winter won't be so bad. But, you can never tell with this Alabama weather. One day it can be hot as blazes and the next will feel like the middle of fall.
I saw Harmony in the barn and she was working happily by herself. I guess she was enjoying being able to work again.
"Clay, you're soaked," Harmony said as she spotted me outside.
All the sudden I seen a big bolt of...

Hometown Chapter Four
It's obvious that I have a hearing problem. All the puzzle pieces are coming together. Why did dad not face the problem? So what's the big deal if I hearing loss? I don't see it as a problem. I have been function completely fine without hearing aids. I did fine when I had hearing aids. I just don't understand what dad was thinking when he was keeping this from me.
I hurried and put the stuff away. Putting the hearing aids in last. They were pink. I remember wearing a lot of pink when I was little. It must of been my favorite color.
I finished my homework and crawled into...

Not Your Typical Country Girl Chapter Chapter Thirty One
I had gotten all cleaned up for dinner. I had put on some of Finn's clothes, I think. I wore some shorts and one of my brothers' shirts. I didn't know who it belonged to. It said Navy. I had no idea why they owned this but it was comfy. But everyone else smelt like they had been working outside. I don't know why I needed to get clean up for lunch.
"How's the wrist," Clay asked as we sat down.
"Sore," I stated.
"Boys, I will need y'all to clean up lunch. Harmony has a doctors appointment this afternoon," Abigail said.
The boys and me groaned...

I got the stage and played a dub step violinist. I could really just let go and dance however I wanted to this song. It was classical but it also had a heavy beat to it. It was the last song I heard before I went deaf. I tried my best to remember how it went.
I hit play and tried to follow the beat. I tried and tried to dance to it. But I could barley hear anything out of the headphones. I had the volume all the way up.
Some guy walked in and was talking. He was not signing at all. I gave him a funny look.
"Sorry, I thought you were hearing," he signed.
"I use...

Harmony's POV
I did not believe a single word Wes said. Or did I? Could I trust him? He could be lying to me but how would he know my name? Maybe it was a cruel joke; who knows?!
I rode Midnight Moon to the back of the house and got off. I walked in the house and quietly walked to my bedroom. I locked the door and jumped in the shower. So much had gone on tonight. Everything was getting out of hand. Clay's rules were stupid. I knew Clay and Tucker had told Isaiah to come talk to me. Why on earth would a complete stranger come talk to me? He gave...

Jasper's POV
I woke up the light flicker off and on. I tucked my head underneath my pillow but I could still see the light. I looked over at the door and there stood mm and dad. They looked mad but what would make them mad?
"What," I signed still somewhat asleep.
"What are you doing in Lila's bed," mom asked signing.
"We stayed up late talking and I guess we fell asleep," I signed as I yawned.
I looked over at who was snuggled up on her side of the bed. She wasn't facing me so, I did not see a problem with this. Lila was a heavy sleeper; she did not even noticed...

I fell asleep on the couch last night with kyle. We couldn't stand to be seperated. Even if it was a thin wall. He was leaving in the morning for the next six to eight months. We were not too sure how long it is going take. You just don't know what the Army will do.
I laid on the couch were kyle had slept. I started crying. Just think of everything that could possibly go wrong, wich was the worst thing I could have done for myself.
"Lola whats wrong sweetie," Kyle asked
"I was just thinking of how long you would be gone," I said crying
I blinked my eyes and noticed he was in his uniform. It made...

I was so excited that Lila would be home tomorrow! I could not wait to hear about her whole trip. I know we talked a lot over the phone but it is a lot different then talking in person.
I had just gotten out of school when Lila was calling me.
"Hey Lila, what's up," I asked signing.
"Hey, I am at the airport; can you come pick me up," she signed.
"Are you in Forks," I signed confused.
"Yes, I have just landed! Please come pick me up," she signed.
"Okay, I will be there as soon as possible," I signed.
Something had to be wrong with Lila. She was not suppose to be home until tomorrow evening....

I felt someone tap me on my right shoulder. I looked over and it was that boy.
"Hey Lila," he signed.
"Oh hey, I was not sure if that was you or not," I tried to sign, "and I'm sorry, but I am horrible at names!"
"It's alright. I'm Andy," he signed smiling.
"That's right, I remember now," I tried to sign feeling stupid, "what are you doing here?"
"I got your point," he signed realizing I was trying to communicate through sign language, "my sister is a dancer here."
"Oh cool! Does she know sign language," I asked by signing.
"Yeah, did she not talk to you," he signed.
"No,...

As they were walking away gun fire went off and I saw Robert and Lola fall to the ground. I pulled my gun out crawled towards Lola and Robert. Robert was fine but Lola was hurt.
"Kyle, are you okay," she asked gasping for breath.
"I am fine," I said, "Robert, dial 911!"
I placed my hand on Lola's shoulder and applied pressure.
"Lola, stay with me! Okay," I said.
"I will try," she smiled.
I started having flashbacks of when I was getting shot when I was touring. I quickly shook my head and brought myself back to present day.

"Tucker, open the gate," I said as he sat on the porch.
"What," he asked as he came over to the pin where I was riding my horse.
"Open the gate," I said again.
"Why," he asked confused.
"Because, I want to ride her in the open field," I stated.
"No way, not on my watch," Tucker said.
"What," I asked confused.
"I am not letting you ride this horse out of this pin," he said.
I pulled Midnight Moon over to the latch and opened the gate. Tucker stood in the middle where there was no way around him. Midnight Moon was wanting to go and so was I! I...

"Oh but, why are you telling me now? After are these years why now," I asked as I sat down.
"I have been wanting to tell you for years now," Horatio stated, "but, I never had the guts to tell you."

I woke up in the hospital. I knew I would be in the hospital after all that happened. But my eyes were crusted with sleepy, I must have been out for a while. All I could remember was Jake slapping my face and and strangling me. But I felt too sore for that just to happen. My head, stomach, arms, practically my whole body was hurting.
I looked around the room and didn't see anyone in here. I wondered where they could be. I noticed I was connected to all sorts of machine. I had stuff taped to my arms, head, and chest. It was very odd.
Jasper walked in the room....

A Strange Way to Fall in Love Chapter Ten
After getting in the car with the cop, it was clear that we were not going back to the orphanage. We were headed somewhere else. Some part of town that was probably not a good place to be in. I looked over at Lola who was still sulking in her spot. She had not even noticed where we were headed.
"Lola," I whispered, "where are we going?"
"What in the world," she said as she looked out the window, "where are we going?"
"Ahh, now you too speak up," the 'cop' laughed, "the where abouts is a secret but we are meeting some people that you will know, Lola!"

I cannot even describe what happen. It was all a blur. I just acted on that moment and did not think about anything else. Before I could realize it the cops had surrounded the whole place and Lola was laying on the floor. I had no idea how she had gotten there and why she was conscious.
"Lola, it is over," I said, "you can wake up!"
I saw Horatio and he had his gun pointed at one guy while a cop was putting handcuffs on him.
"Horatio, Lola is not waking up," I said.
I listened as Horatio spouted out directions for everything.

After sobering up I found out that I was going to have to go to court on two different counts. I had already told them about being blacked mailed to kidnap that woman. I also told them why I had stole the boat and who was on there. They had no idea that Lola was on the boat. It had been hours since I had been arrested. She was still in the cooler and still drunk as ever. I have never seen someone hold so much alcohol! Needless to say Horatio Caine was very upset with her. She was in one of the glass rooms with him and a cop. You could actually hear...
