It's Complicated Chapter Twenty Five
"That was so embarrassing," I said as we walked into the hospital.
"There is nothing to be embarrassed about," Jasper said, "besides, that guy crossed the line!"
"Hey Jasper, hey Lila," Carlisle said, "What can I do for you two?"
"I told Jasper I was fine, but he insisted on bringing me here," I said as Jasper started signing, "I am barley hurt!"
Jasper must have been telling Carlisle the whole story. In stead of the edited version that I preferred.
"Now Lila, you do not have to be embarrassed about getting hurt," Carlisle said while signing, "especially while playing a sport, with a bunch of guys!"
"I am fine," I said as I looked over at Jasper as he was signing something, "could you please talk while you sign. So I know something you are saying?"
"Oh right, sorry," he said.
"It is okay," I shrugged, "Billy is going to kill me. Jake is going to be all snooty about this and probably make fun of me!"
"It is okay," Jasper said as I stared at him dumbfounded, "I will be right beside you to back you up. If you need me to, of course!"
"Oh okay, thank you," I said, "I say that a lot! How do you say that?!"
"You form an 'o' with your hand, then you switch it to a 'k' by holding your thumb in front of your pointer finger and the one next to it. That is for 'oh okay'," Jasper said as he sign really slow for, "then for thank you, you take your flat hand and hold it up to your chin. And then extend it out and little and bring it straight down."
"Oh okay," I said as I signed, "thank you!"
"Good job, you catch on fast," Carlisle said smiling.
"Thank you," I said as I returned the smiled.
"Okay, let's get you fixed up so you two can go do homework," he said.
"Awe," Jasper and I said as the same exact time.
We started laughing.
"Okay, I think your lip will be fine. Just don't bite or pick at it," he said, "and as for your forehead. It should just be fine. Just keep this tape on here."
"Okay, cool! Thank you," I said.
"You two be careful," Carlisle said, "Jasper text me when you start to come home."
"Will do," he said, "bye dad, thanks!"
"No problem, have fun," Carlisle said.
"Thanks again," I said as I waved goodbye.
"See that was not too bad," Jasper said as we walked to his motorcycle.
"I guess not," I shrugged.
"I told you so," he said smiling.
"Sure ya did," I laughed.
"Okay, more like signed," Jasper joked.
"Oh, well, then I really did not understand," I stated.
"Right," he laughed, "let's go to school and get your stuff."
"Okay," I said as I put on a helmet.
"Home come you never wear a helmet on your dirt bike," he asked wondering.
"I do not think, I have ever had a helmet," I said, "I could have when I was little. But very unlikely."
We got to the school and I grabbed my stuff. Soon we were on the way to my house.
"If Jake and his friends are in here, just ignore them," I said almost demanding.
"Okay, I will act like I did not hear em'" he said as I laughed a little.
"Hey Billy," I said as I walked through the door, "I hope it is okay but I invited Jasper over!"
"Lila, what happen to your forehead and lip," he asked as he came over.
"Long story short, I was playing basketball at school with the guys," I shrugged, "I hope it is okay that Jasper came over. Because it is too late!"
"It is fine, are you feeling okay," Billy asked worried about me.
"I am fine," I stated, "Dr. Carlisle took a look at me."
"You drove yourself to the hospital," he asked almost mad.
"No Billy! Jasper gave me a ride to the hospital," I said annoyed.
"Okay, hey Jasper," he said, "how are you?"
"I am good, how are you sir," Jasper asked.
"I am fine. Thank you for taking care of Lila," he said, "she never cares about getting! Worries me to death!"
"Well, we are going in my room since Jake's friends are watching tv rather loud," I stated.
"Okay, leave the door open," billy demanded as I blushed.
"Jasper, I think we should start with some sign language first," I said very excited.
"Okay," he said, "you are learning stuff a lot faster than I thought you would!"
"Oh, thank you," I said I tried to sign but failed terribly at it.
"Let's start with the alphabet," Jasper stated.
