The next half week was awful! I could barley do one thing by myself. I felt really bad for Jake. He had to carry my books to all my classes. I had passed all my exams for school and was out for the summer. I had to wait a week before I went Seth's. I had to get the okay from the doc. I told Sam to forget the doc and just let me go. But Sam insisted on me staying to see what the doc said. So I was going to be a week late to see Seth. Which cuts into our time to hang out. Luckily, I called the doctor up and got my appointment arranged to today. Sam told me I shouldn't have done that. But my plane leaves tonight and I have been packed for weeks. Since Seth left. I thought I would only be here for two weeks so I went ahead and packed up.
COME ON SAM! WE'RE GONNA BE LATE!JAKE"S A WAITING ON US! I screamed.
I'm right here. You don't have to scream. Sam said calmly.
Right sorry, I would like to get this sling off my shoulder. I said.
I know, I shouldn't have kept you waiting. He laughed.
Hey Jake! You ready? I asked as I got in the truck.
Yep! When does your plane leave? Jake asked.
It leaves at four. I said.
What time would you be getting there? He asked.
About seven or eight. I said.
That's cool, it's won't be that late of a flight. He said.
Yes, that's why I booked it. So Harry wouldn't be picking her up at midnight. Sam said.
I can't help it that I am a night owl. I said defensively.
I know. But not everyone is a night owl. Sam said.
Yep, that's why I would be the annoying girl on the plane that no one would tell me to stop because I am crippled. I said.
You aren't crippled. You have a limp. Sam said.
You can get a handicap tag if you wanted. Jake said.
See, I am if it involves a long walk. I laughed a little.
Sam shook his head as we got out the car.
We waited in the waiting room forever, it had been almost an hour. I was sick of waiting.
Look, I'll take the sling off and if it doesn't hurt then I'll go home. No doctor bill. I said.
No Mattie. You can't do that! Sam said.
Mato Uley? A nurse called out.
Finally. I muttered.
I went on back and got x-rays of my shoulder and knee. The doctor said my should was fine and I didn't have to use the sling any more. But my knee would need to stay in the brace for a little while longer. He also said it is fine to get it wet and that I could go get a new one so I could have a dry one. When I needed to have one.
I'm free!!! I screamed as soon as I got to the parking lot.
Everyone looked at me like I was an idiot.
Mattie! Sam scolded.
Sorry was my out side voice to loud to be out side? I asked seriously.
Yes. Sam said.
Just by a little bit. Jake added.
Let's get home so I can finish packing. I smiled.
I was so excited to leave.
By the time I got home and finished packing. It was time to leave. Jake, Billy, Jared, Paul, and Sam took me to the air port. We almost had to take two cars to the nearest airport but thankfully the truck held six people.
I told everyone bye and hugged Sam extra tight. I told them I was going to miss them a lot. I also told them that I would be in touch.
I boarded my flight and I was off to Florida. The sunshine state!! Yay a whole summer of sun! I am so excited!
