AS I laid in bed that, I kept thinking of what Wheels said. Was Seth and I's friendship turn into us dating? Was it Wheels' imagination that he saw more when there might not be? And the big questions; do I like Seth more than a friend. Non of these questions had answer. They were there floating in my mind.
Mattie, are you awake? Seth asked in a whisper.
Wide awake. I said.
Is it true what Jane told me? He asked.
I don't know. What did she tell you? I asked.
She said that you were poping pills nonstop. He said.
It's pain medication, it takes a while to start working so I take a few so I won't have pain later on. I said.
So you aren't addicted? He asked.
No, I'm not. I said.
What did you and Wheels talk about earlier in the pool? Seth asked curious.
He asked if there was something more between us then our friendship. Jane has a big crush on you and she's jealous of our friendship. Wheels thinks that we have feelings for each other. I said.
What'd you say? He asked.
I didn't deny it, nor did I comfirm it. I said.
Which is it? Seth asked.
I don't think I have feelings for more than our friendship. We have grown up together, were like brother and sister. I said.
Good, I was starting to think you thought more of it. He said.
Oh, you wish. I said.
Oh yeah a lot. He said sarcasticly.
Goodnight. I said.
Goodnight. Seth said.
We sat at the beach the next, hanging out with everyone.
Is it possible for you to get even darker? Jane asked.
I don't think so. I said.
You're so tan. She said.
Eh, I'm always this color. I said.
Even in the winter? She asked in disbelief.
Yeah, my tan sticks all year. I said.
That's not fair. I wish I could tan instead of burn. She said.
Put on sunscreen and you won't burn, you'll tan. I said.
Yeah, I could put on some sunscreen. She said.
Yeah. I mumbled.
So what's the deal with you and Seth? Jane asked in a whisper.
We're friends. I said.
Nothing more? She asked curious.
Nah, he's like my brother. I said.
Cool, so you don't mind me flirting with him? Jane asked hopeful.
Yeah, nah. I said.
Cool. She smiled.
Yep. I shrugged.
Sorry this is all i got...
