Beginning with Windows Vista and continuing, I believe in Windows 7, micrsoft has reincluded sound packages and the ability to change them. there are several prepackaged sound packages available, but since my tastes are more unusual (ie obsesses with Sondheim) I decded it would be more fun to make my own. I made my own Scheme for christmas so that all greetings, notes of approval and warnings were delivered as christmas carols. Then after Christmas I tried to think of something that would give me the same smile even as my computer may be notifying me that something was wrong - so I thought of the Two Princes in "Into the Woods" singing "agony" - so now that short sound bite indicates I have a problem, Meanwhile - when I have new mail, instead of the traditional robot voice, I have Elaine Stritch saying/singing "I'd Like To Propose a Toast" at the beginning of "The Ladies Who Lunch" It's too much fun. I wondered whether anyone else had indulged their obsession in this way or would like help doing their own Sondheim Sound Package.
