Chapter 16 ; I'm still here

Riley watched as Alaric's bloody body lay on the floor cold, still. She looked up and smiled at Amelia, "You can breathe now, it's over. You did it sis." Amelia smiled and walked over the Riley giving her a hug. "Thank you for dealing with me." she said smiling.
"Ewww, don't get all gross on me now." Riley said laughing and pushing Amelia away she then walked over to Andrew giving him a hug, "I'm glad your okay, dude."
"Right back at ya, kid." he said hugging her back.
"Well, I'm going to go call Belle and tell her what's up" Riley said walking out of the ware house, "You two do your thing." Riley said smiling and leaving the ware house.
Amelia turned towards Andrew, "I am so sorry for everything!" she said standing far from him keeping her distance.
"What?" Andrew said looking at her confused, he had expected a hug, a kiss, an I love you...not an apology.
"This. You being kidnapped, locked up. It's all my fault. I told you to stay away from me." she said rambling. "Ugh, I totally get it if you want to break up and get the hell away from me."
Andrew walked towards Amelia and smiled, "Are you crazy?" he said grabbing her and pulling her close to him. "I would endure any pain and any torture if it meant keeping you safe."
"You mean that?"
"I mean that. This was nothing compared to what I could have done for you." Andrew said smiling.
"I love you Andrew Hawkins"
"I love you too Amelia Grace."
Andrew leaned down and gave Amelia the kiss they've both been waiting for.
Riley was waiting outside the warehouse, when she saw Belle walk up.
"Hey you" Belle said smiling and giving Riley a hug.
"Bella Belle, it's over" Riley said returning the hug.
"It is."
Riley smiled, "So where are the others?"
"Jacob went home, because his mom was freaking out on him...but he said he'll call you. Mason went back to his apartment to get cleaned up, he said he'll probably see you around at school, but I think he just needs some space and a breather after everything that's been going on, you know?"
Riley nodded her head understanding, "Yeah, I get it. But wait, where's Lucas?"
Belle smiled, "That boy is waiting for you in the car?"
Riley smiled, "He is? He didn't run?"
"Nope."
Riley walked to the car and saw Lucas leaning against it. "Hey sexy." Riley said walking up to him and smiling, "Didn't expect to see you here."
"Really? and why is that?" Lucas asked smirking at her.
"Oh you know, just thought you'd run, now that the crazy man is dead. You no longer have to be around the girl who's constantly getting you in trouble."
Lucas leaned in towards Riley, "And what if I told you I don't mind being around that girl."
Riley looked up at him, "You sure, what if I told you that there's no guarantee in the crazy going away?"
"Then I'll endure it all, on one condition."
Riley looked at him confused, "I knew there had to be a catch."
"I'll endure it all if you agree to be my girlfriend."
Riley smiled, "Deal" Lucas then leaned down and kissed his girlfriend.
5 MONTHS LATER
"Riles! Where are you? Are you all packed?" Amelia screamed looking for her little sister.
"In my room, Amelia!" Riley hollered back.
Amelia walked into Riley's room to see her texting someone. Her room was all packed up and filled with boxes and bags.
"Did you talk to mom?" Amelia questioned sitting down on Riley's bed.
"Yup, all done!" Riley said smiling.
"Who are you texting right now?"
"Oh Mason, he says Chicago's awesome, and he's loving his job down there. He wished me luck for NYU." Riley said smiling.
"Aww that's sweet." Amelia said returning the smile.
After the craziness and drama with Alaric it took everyone sometime to get used to normal. In the last four months Andrew had officially moved into the Grace's apartment and his relationship with Amelia was going great. Belle had returned to work and was focusing on her career. Lucas and Riley had been taking it slow at first and getting to know each other. Riley still however kept in touch with Mason, who had moved to Chicago after everything that had happened. Jacob had gotten accepted to Berkeley in California and had moved down there last month. Him and Riley talk to each other every single day.
"So kid, you're going to be fine in NYU, right? I mean your dorm is all good, you have everything---" Amelia began to ramble when Riley cut her off.
"Amelia, we've been over this." Riley said laughing. "I'm going to be fine, besides Luke's apartment is like right there. If I ever need anything I've got him."
"Good" Amelia said leaning over and hugging Riley, "I can't believe my little sister is leaving home and going to college."
"Dude, chill I'll be back every weekend to annoy the crap out of you and Andrew."
"You better." Amelia said smiling and hugging Riley even tighter.
Riley broke the hug and looked at Amelia, "I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but I'll actually miss having you around, sis."
Amelia laughed, "Because you love me."
"Dude, shut up." Riley said hugging her sister again.
And that's how the Grace sisters spent the next hour. Laughing, teasing, and finally being happy.
They had made it.
