Steve Irwin was born on February 22, 1962. His parents owned a small reptile park where Steve grew up around snakes, crocodiles, and many other reptiles. At age nine, Steve started handling crocodiles under his father's supervision. He also wrestled his first croc at nine. In 1991, Steve took over the managment of the park and renamed it to the Australia Zoo. In 1991, Terri Raines decided to visit the zoo and there she met Steve. It was love at first sight for this couple. 4 months later they got engaged and they were married on June 4, 1992. Soon after, they had two children; Bindi sue Irwin and Robert Clarence Irwin. On Steve and Terri's honeymoon, they trapped crocodiles and filmed it. That soon became the first episode of The Crocodile Hunter. Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end. Steve Irwin died on September 4, 2006. He was pierced in the chest by a stingray spine while snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef. He was filming a doctumentary, Ocean's Deadliest, and he accidentally boxed a ray in. It attacked him and he was forced to take a spine to the chest, and that was the end of brave, adventurous Steve Irwin.
