Many of their friends had been nervous because they didn’t know where the completed Parker family would live but now that they knew it would be California, it was time to create a new normal and regular routine. Part of the routine meant that it was time to get ready for the new school year which meant enrolling Annie in Hallie’s school and Nick updating Hallie’s information to include her mother Elizabeth since he was the only parent listed. Hallie had an idea that she thought might help save time in regards to enrolling Annie in her school. “Dad? Mom? I have an idea on how to help us save time at registration in regards to Annie’s enrollment paper. Since I’m already a student at the school, they have Dad’s information in the system because of me. I thought that maybe you could ask them to pull up my file and just copy Dad’s information to the file that will be created by Annie because it will save time. The only information that needs to be added to mine is Mom’s information. What do you think?”
    “That’s a great idea, Hal. You’re right with the fact that my information is already there in your file. When we go, I’ll ask them if they can just copy my information from your file onto Annie’s file so the only new information for yours will be to add your mother. Also, I need to update the list of people who will be allowed to pick you up in case you do get sick or you have an appointment with your regular doctor, eye doctor, or even dentist. Plus, I need to call my insurance soon to add both Annie and your mother to my coverage but not you because you’re already covered.”
    Due to the fact that Annie had no idea what to expect from her new school or even an American school in general, she decided that Hallie was the one to ask what schooling in America was like and even theirs. Hallie decided that the best way to explain it to her sister was to do a presentation similar to the ones they had done at camp when they came up with their master plan to switch places and get their parents back together. As Hallie was explaining everything to Annie and answering her questions that she had, she felt the need to list all the sports and clubs that were offered at their school to see if any of them piped Annie’s interest. Annie decided that the ones she liked were the ones that Hallie was in because she wanted to be near her sister since Hallie would be the only person she knew there.
    “I’m scared and nervous about school starting, Hal,” Annie told her.
    “Why are you scared and nervous, Ann?” Hallie asked her.
    “You’re the only person I’ll know there.”
    “It’s okay that you’re feeling scared and nervous. My friends will become your friends as well. I’m sure that Mom is probably feeling the same way you are.”
