So a lot of you need help with making families that aren't boring and I feel the same way but I do have a few ideas that I've learned through out the years of playing Sims3.
The first idea:
This first idea is partially a story but can also make it as a sims game play! :)
(im gonna use names for these sims so its easier to like read the story. you can change the names if you want.)
A girl named Olivia Benson and a boy Joe Miller were about 2 years into their relationship being the age of 18 for both of them. One day, Olivia went to a coffee shop and met a boy named Nate Jensen. (you can just have Olivia go to Nates house.) They had a lot in common and Olivia was getting sick of Joe because they never spent any time together and Joe was always grumpy with an excuse of, "I didnt get enough sleep last night."
And Nates girlfriend, Angelica was bossy and mean. She also had an excuse for being nasty, "Today just isnt my day."
Olivia knows about Angelica and Nate knows about Joe. Olivia and Nate would complain to each other about Angelica and Joe.
A couple months went by and soon enough Olivia was pregnant with Nates baby. She told Joe, in which he didnt know about Nate. Joe got all excited. He was happy for Olivia but Olivia broke up with Joe. "Im sorry" she said, "Th-thi-this is-" Joe interrupted, "You dont have to be sorry its my baby and I love you."
"NO JOE!" Olivia yelled out crying, "This is not your baby Joe. I met this boy Nate a few months ago and didnt want to tell you because you wouldnt let me have any friends that were boys and i felt so trapped being in a relationship, Nate and i just had so many connections and he's nice, your grumpy everyday and your excuse is being tired. Well wake up Joe, because im not lying and im done being your puppy. Im moving in with Nate."
"Im sorry Olivia. (he started crying) Fine then. Where are you gonna go?"
They originally live in Sunset Valley but Nate and Olivia were moving to Isla Paradiso. But Olivia didnt tell Joe where she was going.
"Thats none of your business Joe. Dont worry about me. Im going far away from this awful town. But what makes this town awful is that I fell in love with you in it."
So your gonna need Island Paradise expansion pack for this so you can move Nate, Olivia and the baby into Isla Paradiso. When your Olivia breaks up with Joe, move him out of the household and add Nate to an active family and Angelica doesnt even know about Olivia or her being pregnant. Nate just left one night knowing that he's never coming back to her. I hope this wasnt too confusing for ya!
