Recap on episode eight, Zach and his allies travel to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to find and rescue Charlie, Zach's long lost brother. Along the way, they encountered the hive in an old golden age warmind bunker hidden beneath the commonwealth and after the conflict, the pathfinders agreed with Zach to take safer refuge in Sanctuary. Meanwhile, Kirito, the black swordsman, joins up with Commander Kuzo and the Prowlers while on a quest to find clues to the golden warrior's whereabouts.
Prologue
In the outskirts of the Commonwealth, the prowlers land next to an outpost controlled by the gunners. Once the gunners sees the Prowlers leaving their ship, they started firing upon the prowlers. Kuzo yells, "Find cover everyone!," and deploys his Sniper rifle. As the gunners are continuing their assault, Kuzo picks off a gunner private with ease. Suddenly, Kuzo sees one of his prowlers getting shot by a gunner Sniper, and he crouches back to cover. "Kirito," says Kuzo, "we have an enemy sniper around here, do you think you can scope him out for me?" Then Kirito nods and his eyes glow red, due to his ability to see enemies from afar. He spots the sniper and says to Kuzo, "He's on top of that church Commander." Then Kuzo nods and carefully aims his rifle and fires. Once Kuzo crouches behind cover once more, he asks Kirito, "Did I get him?" Then the black swordsman looks back at the church and says, "I think so." Suddenly, a squad of gunners ambushed Kuzo and the prowlers as they were moving up to clear the outpost. "So, you want to do it this way, do you?," said Kirito as he's pulling out his blade. "Kirito, No!," yelled Kuzo. Suddenly, the commander of the squad shoots Kirito's arm as he's pulling out his sword. This caused the black swordsman to drop to the ground in pain, as Kuzo looks down and says to his men, "Engage!" Suddenly, the prowlers attacked the gunners with their blades and Kuzo slashes at the commander with his blade. Once the blade sweeps the commander's head, the screen cuts to black.
Project Crossover episode 9: Flashbacks.
Meanwhile in Sanctuary, Zach and Leafa are fighting each other with their weapons. Leafa tries to perform a couple of quick slashes with her katana, but Zach deflects every slash away with his glaive. Suddenly, Leafa tries to go for Zach's legs, but he jumps from harm's way. Then she tries to go for his head, but the golden warrior ducks. Then she tries to dash forward and disarm her target, but Zach wouldn't allow her to do so. He thrusts his pommel straight towards Leafa's leg, knocking her down, and points his blade towards her face. Afterwards, Zach sheaths his glaive and lifts Leafa back on her feet. "You need to control your anger honey," said Zach. "I know babe," said Leafa while catching her breath, "I'm sorry, I haven't fought like that in a long time." Then Zach said, "It's alright, but I seriously think you underestimated a guardian that knows how to effectively use a glaive." As he's talking, Zach didn't realize that Leafa was quietly grabbing her sword. Then she says, "Yeah, but you made a mistake. You dropped your guard." Then she thrusts her sword blade forward, but Zach caught her blade with a set of claws from his gauntlets. "No I didn't," said Zach with a smirk, "I made you think that I dropped my guard." Then Leafa smiles and says, "You certainly have a lot of tricks up your sleeve, do you?" "Damn straight," said Zach, "I always try to be a few steps ahead of my enemies." "And honestly, that's a pretty good tactic to use," said a woman behind Zach. Suddenly, Zach turns around and notices Lucy and Lefteris. "Morning Lucy, morning Lefteris," said Zach. "Morning dude," said Lefteris. "Hi Zach," said Lucy, "How are you two doing this fine morning?" "Not too shabby," said Zach, "I'm just trying to help Leafa out with her combat skills." Then Leafa sheaths her katana and says, "Well I'll tell you one thing, I haven't done this in 14 years." Then Zach looks at Leafa and says, "I know honey, but I hope I'll help you get back on your feet before we take on some serious threats." Afterwards, Lucy asked Zach, "Actually, I am a little curious about how came to be a guardian, and obviously before that time." Then Zach smiled and says to Lucy, "Honestly, I was hoping that you would say something about my past. Follow me to my personal quarters guys." Once they finished their conversation, Lefteris, Lucy, and Leafa followed Zach to his room. "Uh Zach," said Lefteris, "this is your bedroom." Then Zach looks at Lefteris and says, "I know." "But I thought you were going to show us your personal quarters," said Lucy. Then Zach activates a hidden lever and a large door opens up to his quarters. Afterwards, the golden warrior says, "I was. Now follow me." As much to their amazement, Lefteris, Lucy, and Leafa couldn't believe their eyes as they walked inside Zach's quarters. They were shocked at how much personal items the golden warrior collected in his many years of survival and combat. Many items were all over the walls, from various weapons, ranging from swords to hammers to all kinds of ballistic firearms. Also, there were lots of statues of the many creatures he fought. Some were human, others were alien, and even a few predicted both races. Lucy stopped and looked at a particular creature. Then she asked Zach, "Hey Zach, What is this thing?" Then Zach looks at the creature and says, "That's a Promethean Knight, and they are very dangerous. These guys use a very wide variety of weapons to defeat their enemies, and are capable of teleportation." Then Leafa asks, "Any weaknesses babe?" Then Zach says to Leafa, "Hit him from the sides, these giant, bulky panels on its back are vulnerable to gunfire. But I've heard that these things are no longer active due to some, unfortunate events. But we should get moving, I need to show you my suit collection." Afterwards, Zach leads his buddies to his suit collection and opened the metal door. Inside were lots of suits that he used to wear for many years, and now he kept them to showcase them. Lefteris, Lucy, and Leafa couldn't believe their eyes when they saw the many suits that Zach wore in his lifetime before he became the Golden warrior. "Honestly, this is really amazing," said Leafa, "but all three of us would like to know how you got from one suit to the next?" Then Zach looks at Leafa and says, "Well, I actually am not from this multiverse." Then Lucy said, "Well isn't it that obvious." Then Zach said, "Yea, but what I mean is, that I'm actually not a guardian, I'm a nephalem." Then Leafa says, "Now hold on, I'm sorry to interrupt, but I've been reading some journals and books recently in the library, and there was only 5 nephalem in the sacred order." Then Zach nods his head and says, "Yes, but apparently, there was a 6th nephalem in the order." Then Lefteris asked Zach, "Who's the 6th nephalem?" "You're looking at him right now," said Zach, "Anyway, the reason why I was the 6th nephalem, and the actual reason why I'm here in the multiverse is because I realized that there is an ancient threat that's capable of wiping out every sentiment life form across the universe, and they call themselves, the asylum." "What is the asylum?," asked Lucy. Then Zach said, "The asylum Lucy, are the most dangerous creatures that ever existed in the universe, they're unlike anything you have ever seen and faced before." As Zach's talking, a memory fades in to reveal what the asylum is capable of. "The asylum are born from darkness, and they only have one goal in mind, complete destruction. And believe it or not, they were responsible for the collapse of the Golden age. Nothing will stand in their way, and they've killed off all sorts of life forms, both organic, and robotic. Hell, they've replaced the Vex as evil so dark, it despises other evil," said Zach, "They are controlled by their overlords, and there is one that is so terrifying, that nothing could stop him. He is the youngest of the overlords, but I found him the most dangerous of them all. His name is Shadow." Then Lefteris said, "I bet he was difficult to fight." Then Zach said, "I've faced him, multiple times, and I've defeated him, twice. Even though you're good fighters and all, you can't defeat Shadow." Then Leafa asks Zach, "Why is that babe?" Then Zach said, "Because the only thing that can stop Shadow, is a nephalem, otherwise, if you try to attack him, your attacks are going to pass through his body as if it was thin air. Heck, when I first faced him, I had no idea for what I was about to face." Then Lefteris says, "And you didn't know your true power either." Then Zach nods and says, "Yep, but back then, I was wearing my personal combat armor over there," and he points towards his signature black and red armor, then he continued, "This all happened long before my encounter with the Red Legion, and Dominus Ghual. But until that time, I didn't know about my powers until I was rescued by Lord Invictus, ruler of Olympus. He saved me and he actually forged this armor for me, as well as the mythical weapons that you saw back in the Commonwealth. Despite facing impossible odds, I was able to defeat Shadow and saved all mankind." After telling his story, Lucy asked Zach, "That's good and all, but is Shadow really dead?" Then Zach said, "I have my doubts about that, anything can awaken him and his forces, who knows, he might already be on his way towards us right now, due to the traveler." Then Lefteris says, "I really hope that we can stop his forces if they do arrive." "Shadow's minions can be killed by normal warriors," said Zach, "but they are not a walk in the park to defeat. The Asylum are a force in great numbers, and they always try to find a weakness in their opponent's defenses. Once they find that weakness, their enemies will be completely destroyed. I fear that if the Asylum arrives in Sanctuary, humanity won't stand a chance." Then Leafa says, "But as long as you're alive babe, hope survives." Then Zach said, "Yes, but until Shadow arrives, we need to prepare ourselves for their arrival, otherwise, anyone who is unprepared will face an unfortunate end." Then Zach leads his allies out of his personal archives and closes the hidden door. Afterwards, he says to them, "I want you guys to take what I've said into consideration, keep in mind that anything can awaken the Asylum and begin a terrible conflict." Lefteris says, "Yeah, but we still have a lot of worlds in this multiverse that hasn't been explored yet." Then Zach said, "I understand that bud, but I actually have to keep an eye on my younger brother, you know how brash and cocky he is these days." Then Leafa said, "I'm worried about him doing something terrible to us in Sanctuary." Then Zach said, "God I sure hope not. Anyway, that's all for now, we have to report to Riley for our next assignment." "Right behind you Zach," said Lucy. Then Zach nods and he and his allies report to the war room for their preperation of the next assignment.
Epilogue
Back in the Commonwealth, the commander of the gunners falls to the ground dead, and Kuzo is looking at the liberated outpost. He noticed Kirito wounded and helps him up. "Are you okay, boy?," asked Kuzo. Then Kirito said while in pain, "Yeah, I'm fine. But I never expected someone like those mercenaries to be quick on the draw." Then Kuzo said with an upset but concerned voice, "You were lucky that the commander didn't put a round between your eyes. You are no longer in your world, Kirito. In this multiverse, anything can kill you, whether you are fast enough or not, and your encounter with the Gunners almost costed you your own life." Then Kirito said, "But I know I have a skill where I do extra damage when I take damage." "Not here, Kirito. Not in this world," said Kuzo, "Most of your so called, "Skills" in your universe doesn't apply to this multiverse, especially in the commonwealth. If you faced Zach here, you would've been dead." Before Kuzo continued, one of the prowlers called to him, "Commander, we've found something." Then Kuzo says to the Black swordsman, "Come on kid, maybe this will be a clue to finding him." Then Kuzo and Kirito regrouped with the prowlers at the church to find another clue to find the Golden warrior.
