Been looking at other site's to get some insight into what other's think of Tiva and i have to say the amount of Tiva hater's is shocking! I found a post on one site which amused me because the person obviously thinks that Tiva and any future plans to make Tiva a couple will ruin and therefor end the show!!
The following is the post so you can judge for yourselves, i would like to hear what you have to say once you have read the post!!
TIVA HATER
Tiva honestly IS a deal breaker for me, yes. Sorry. Because I don't see how they CAN keep it offscreen. If they're going to do it at all then they'll make it be an important part of the episodes - otherwise, why bother doing it? And I don't even want to know that they're a couple offscreen.
.
I am *not interested* in their relationship. I know people don't understand this and think my problem is with the "romance", but I'm not even interested in their scenes in a*non-romantic* context. I've come to hate all the bickering that we're supposed to interpret as UST. I dislike the way they treat each other. I don't like their interactions. Not because of "Tiva" or a romance relationship, but because I honestly hate the way they behave around each other. When I see Ziva with McGee or Abby, I like her a bit more. When Tony is with Gibbs or Abby he's infinitely more likeable. When they are together I dislike both of them. I hate the snark and digs and lack of respect. I don't find it sexy. I don't find it funny. I find it extremely irritating.
.
I hate that they don't have any character development outside each other these days. I hate that Tony in particular has been warped as a character to make him fit into a Tiva-sized box, and the character assassination of Ziva at the end of last season has made me unable to like the character at all now. And all because they wanted to create a "Tiva" buzz, and devote endless time to this "relationship", even if all we saw was antagonism.
.
Thank you in respect of "Damage". I’m delighted to hear it’s one of your favourite fanfics. But I think it shows in the way I wrote Ziva in that story, that I respected the character back then in a way that I do not now. I could see an inner life to her that had nothing to do with “Tiva”. Now they have ruined her to the point of making her unwriteable (for me) because I do not believe in her essential integrity or goodness.
.
If you look at the stories on ff.net and elsewhere, the notion of "family" is huge. People want to believe in Papa Bear Gibbs and the rest as a band of siblings who tease each other but love each other really. But THAT hasn't existed in the show in quite some time.“Ignition” was a return to it, but all the more noticeable for it being lacking for so long before that. And I blame that in large part on "Tiva". The show has been twisted out of shape to make room for it, and I don't like the show it has become.
.
So no, my tolerance for all things “Tiva” has reached the point where if it was made canon I would stop watching. I can’t stress enough how much it has come to irritate me, and how little I like the way the characters behave with each other. I see no reason to put myself through the irritation of watching any more of it than the show already shoves down our throat. Tiva would be *so wrong* for both of them. I can’t bear the thought of a return to the “flirty” behaviour of S3, either. How can they after all that’s happened? The idea of them trading coy sexual banter *now*, after what happened in “Aliyah”, makes me feel a little bit ill. I think that’s why I’m dreading the Paris episode so much.
.
I agree the relationship is like a lead weight, weighing the show down.I don't agree that it needs resolution of a romantic kind to make that better - it would only make it worse. I don't see it as a gun they introducedin earlier seasons, either. Most of what the Tiva fans see as "Tiva" moments, are the same moments any other pairing has had. They just insisted theirs was more important and clamoured for it to be made canon. THAT is why we've had these awful, ambiguous "Tiva" scenes for the past season. Get rid of those, get the teamwork back, forget about promoting the "pairing" in these spoilers that always turn out to not be quite what expected, and get back on with making a *good show*.
.
If they could move the relationship forward – have Ziva get a boyfriend and a life, have Tony concentrate on his career, have them relate to each other as adults, show some mutual respect, and forget shoving them at us as a pairing, then that would work for me.
