The next day, Sean had a longer run to Pittston. Instead of starting at Port Clinton, he would begin at the Reading Outer Station. Chaffee was passing him with a freight train.

Chaffee: *Pulling his B-unit, and 9 freight cars* This is disgraceful. I should be pulling passengers.
Sean: Well, aren't you guys called F-unit's for a reason?
Chaffee: You're an F-unit too buddy!
Sean: Yeah, but I was originally intended for passenger service. You older guys are freight units.
Chaffee: We ain't all built for freight. The F doesn't indicate us being freight units. It means, I have a full width cowlbody.
Sean: I guess that's why you're also called covered wagons sometimes.
Chaffee: Yeah.
Conductor: All aboard!
Chaffee: Now get out of my way so I can drop these cars off at Spring Street.
Sean: Easy, don't rush me. *Blows his horn twice, and leaves the station* If I was back on the Eastern Pacific, no one would have said that.

Sigmund & Clyde were waiting for a green signal at Port Clinton. Another diesel was nearby in the repair shop.

Sigmund: Feeling better Ken?
Ken: I think so. I have to stay in here for a couple of days though.
Clyde: Get better soon.
Sigmund: *Blows his horn twice, and pulls his freight*
Ken: Take care.

The SD50 watched the black & white SD50-2's leaving with their freight as they went for Tamaqua. After a half hour, Sean arrived for his station stop.

Ken: Hey there.
Sean: Ian? *Looks at Ken* Wait, no. You're someone else.
Ken: You knew Ian?
Sean: Yeah, he worked with me on the Eastern Pacific at one point. God I miss that line.

Soon, an SW8 appeared. He stopped next to Sean while waiting for a clear line with two empty centerbeams.

Dom: What's troubling you?
Sean: I just can't stop thinking about my friends back on the Eastern Pacific.
Dom: Ah, I see. You came here from a different railroad.
Ken: Clearly. It's not often you see an F40PH around these parts.
Dom: I'm not saying it's easy to get over leaving a lot of your friends behind after joining a different railroad, but I've been there before. You wanna know where I originally started?
Sean: Sure.
Dom: Lehigh Valley. I had a long 26 year career on that line. Started since I was born in 1950, and then when Conrail took over in '76, I had an 18 year stint with them until ending up here.
Sean: You must have spent a lot of time in Pennsylvania.
Dom: I did, but many times I was required to go on other parts of the system for both railroads. On the LV, I'd sometimes go to New Jersey, or New York. I also did the same thing for Conrail. Sometimes, they'd even send me further west into Ohio.
Sean: I'd like to go into Ohio. Generally when I worked on Amtrak, they'd only let me run the Empire Corridor. I was born in New Jersey, so I'd sometimes help on the Northeast Corridor, or Keystone Line, but most of my time there was running up and down along the Hudson River.
Dom: I heard great things about the Hudson.
Sean: We should talk more when I finish my passenger run. I should be cleared to leave in-
Conductor: All aboard!!
Sean: Right now actually. *Chuckles, and blows his horn twice*
Dom: Always nice to make a new friend.
Sean: No problem. *Pulls his train* I'm Sean by the way.
Dom: Dom. Nice to meet you.
Sean: Likewise!

The old switcher smiled as he watched the silver diesel pull his seven Amfleets out of the station.

Sean: I'm glad I met him. He made me feel a lot better.
Dom: He's a nice guy.
Ken: I'll admit, I had my doubts, but he seems good.
Dom: He's young, but I can tell he's experienced a lot in his life.
Ken: You two can definitely share good stories together.
Dom: You're right there Ken. You're absolutely right.

The End
