Tried using Midnight Sun and Anne of Green Gables
for ideas

It was so frustrating, Tanya knew I didn’t return her feelings of me yet she tried to court me. I seriously did not get it why her and her sisters and friends passed around love notes passed around love notes or love letters to us guys and then not signing them it was very annoying. I knew Tanya was expecting me to chose her as my dance partner but there was no chance. I would pick her. As I glanced around the room, it looked alienish the basement was too… different would be the word instead of the usual bleak white I was used to, it was a warmer more inviting white full of part decorations it looked literally childish, the upstairs the adults danced in the main hall set up carefully and more beautifully.
I could see Tanya reapplying lipstick and smacking her lips after every round, which was just so disgusting. I mean she could do that in private. I looked as soon as she caught my eyes, no way would I start up a conversation with her.
Suddenly Emmett announced the dance was about to begin, I groaned I had to find a dance partner before Tanya came and I had no excuse. That’s when I saw her, she was startlingly beautiful, and the way she held her head, the way she tried to blend in, her face was heart shaped with chocolate eyes, glossy pink cheek. She was the one I would dance with. I crossed over and approached her breathing began to get faster. She was real!
“Excuse Me”, I managed to push out.
She looked at me in shock, I tried smiling to reassure her.
“Y-Yes”, She stammered. Why was she stammering was she in shock ?
“Would you like to dance with me?” I asked softly.
““I am afraid I can’t dance and anyway I am to clumsy so would not want to,”
Her face went into a grimace after that as if she regretted it.
I gave a carefree laugh
“It is fine I will help you ,” Of course it was I pulled out a smile.
“Are you sure”, her voice was of scepticism Of course I was I had never been this much in my life.
“Definitely,” I spoke with confidence.
I took her pale hand and to lead her to the dance floor.
