Why Dimitri Belikov is way better than Edward Cullen

I first must confess that i was a Twilight fan when it first came out which was way in........2005 if i remember correctly (if not you can correct me) but since reading Vampire Academy I have massively fallen for Dimitri.

In real life who wants a vampire who sparkles? All people want someone who they think will lose life or power from being in the sun not looking like f**king diamond even though it is beautiful. Second, Edward almost made it probable that he was going to be with Bella wher as with Dimitri you were on the edge of your seat not knowing what would happen. And third we almost never...

When Twilight came out and started being noticed everyone was so into it and everywhere you went someone had something to say about the book. I mean whats not to love? Hot vampire and ordinary girl involved in a forbidden romance. (Not to mention ordinary girl's hot best friend who just so happens to be a werewolf.)
