Star Trek: Picard served as a spin-off and sequel to Star Trek: The Next Generation. The show introduced lots of new characters, but it also brought back several beloved characters from The Next Generation. This article is to highlight those characters. The show had 3 seasons and 30 episodes.
Before listing off The Next Generation characters, it's important to bring up Seven of Nine. Seven of Nine, who was originally from Star Trek: Voyager, was one of the few characters to appear in all 3 seasons of the show. She had a recurring role in the first season and a main role in the following seasons. She appeared in 25 episodes.
Guinan and Geordi La Forge (5 episodes)
Guinan, who was a supporting character in The Next Generation, was a supporting character in Picard's second season. It took a bit longer for Geordi La Forge to return than his fellow crew members. However, one of his daughters had a prominent role in the third season, so Geordi's presence was felt throughout the season.
Worf, Deanna Troi and Data (7 episodes)
Worf and Deanna Troi, who were both major characters in The Next Generation, returned to help their beloved captain in the show's third season. Troi also made a guest appearance in the first season. Fan-favorite Data was brought on in the show's first and third seasons. Data was played by Brent Spiner, an actor who played various other characters. Data may have only appeared in 6 episodes, but Brent Spiner appeared in 13 episodes because he played characters that appeared in some episodes that Data wasn't in.
Q and the Borg Queen (8 episodes)
Fan-favorite antagonists Q and the Borg Queen appeared in Picard's second season. The Borg Queen was the villain in Star Trek: First Contact, which was the second film to star the cast of The Next Generation. Coincidentally, Q appeared in 8 episodes in both The Next Generation and Picard.
Beverly Crusher (10 episodes)
Beverly Crusher didn't appear in the first two seasons of Picard, but she made up for lost time by appearing in every episode of the third season. Despite that, she was credited as a guest star throughout the third season.
William Riker (12 episodes)
William Riker, who was Picard's second-in-command in The Next Generation, guest-starred in Picard's first season. He returned to being Picard's most trusted crew member in the third season. Like with Beverly Crusher, he was credited as a guest star in the third season despite appearing in every episode in that season.
Jean-Luc Picard (30 episodes)
Like The Next Generation, Picard is the protagonist of this show. As to be expected, he appeared in every episode of the series. Patrick Stewart's Jean-Luc Picard is one of only two captains, the other being William Shatner's James T. Kirk, to be the protagonist of two Star Trek shows.
