1. She is not needed that often:

Before I expand on this some basics about actor contracts and the difference between regular and guest characters: An actor playing a regular has certain rights, including getting credited as such and turning up in a certain number of episodes. As far as I know, a regular at White Collar gets a scene in at least ten episodes. The downside is that the actor is bond to the show and can’t take on other projects that easily. Rumor has it that this is the reason Sharif Atkins is still officially listed as a guest star. Even though Clinton Jones turns up in nearly every episode, the actor is free to take on other engagements. And normally, a guest star wouldn’t be included into the credits the way he is now since White Collar reverted back to the original theme song. I’m convinced that the only reason he gets regular credits even though he is still a guest star is because the audience had trouble understanding why originally Hillary Burton was included but not him. But for my point the real crux of the matter is the number of episodes Sara HAS to turn up in order to fulfill Hillary Burton’s...

Right before "The Dentist of Detroit" premiered, I got to talk to Willie Garson about two PSAs he wrote and the cast of 'White Collar' acted in.

Check it out! link

Here's a teaser:
"Now my next question: is shooting White Collar as much fun as it looks like?

Yes, it actually is; we have a blast. We all really like each other much more than many other things I’ve done. The writers are very collaborative with us; they allow suggestions, we talk things out, it’s very comfortable, and it all comes down to the script, and the scripts are very good. That makes it a great place to be.

I also want to ask about the relationships of the characters in the show and in particular Mozzie’s relationship with Elizabeth Burke, because I feel like those two would never meet, just based on their characters on paper…

The third season of White Collar will soon premiere, and the show's new co-star, Hilarie Burton, spoke with reporters on what can be expected in the upcoming episodes. And it sounds like we will be getting a lot more crime, romance and character twists this summer.

Burton's character, insurance investigator Sara Ellis, was previously a recurring character on the crime-solving series. But in season 3, Sara will be a regular and an emerging love interest for Neal Caffrey (series star Matt Bomer). With Sara's increasingly important role on the show, Burton was able to provide a wealth of hints as to what will be happening on White Collar.

On who stole the Nazi treasure at the end of season 2:
"They'll see who it is soon enough."

On the Neal-Sara relationship:
"I think that Neal getting over Kate's death was at least a full-season story."

"At the beginning of season 3, there's still a little bit of that cat-and-mouse between Sara and Neal."

appears there will be many more “stolen” moments between Neal Caffrey and Sara Ellis: USA Network’s White Collar is promoting the utterly awesome Hilarie Burton to series regular for Season 3, TVLine has learned exclusively.

At the time she lensed her very first White Collar episode, Burton shared her wish for her recurring role to turn into something longterm. As she put it, series leads Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay “are so sincere in their generosity and their kindness, I’d stay forever, man.”

White Collar‘s Tim DeKay and Matt Bomer Prove Their Chemistry Is No Con

Having previously called One Tree Hill home, Burton joined the USA series as a top-shelf insurance investigator who considers Neal to be “the one that got away” — meaning, ahem, a thoroughly elusive art thief. But over the course of Burton’s Season 2 appearances, Sara and Neal have reached a sort of professional détente, with her even joining “Burke’s Seven” for an intricate con that kicked off the show’s wintertime run.

Sara Ellis, whom we met late in the first half of White Collar’s [USA, Tuesdays, 10/9C] current season, is a no-nonsense insurance investigator who does whatever it takes to close a case. If that means going to extra-legal lengths, then that’s fine.

Recently I had the opportunity to take part in a teleconference call with Hilarie Burton, the actor who plays Ellis. Burton, it turns out is both voluble and witty – when she’s finished answering a question, it stays answered! It’s easy to see that she’s having a good time in her recurring role on White Collar and that sense of fun is present in call.

Hello, Hilarie, thanks for doing this.

Hilarie Burton: Hi. I was waiting to be able to say hi to everybody. This is the most organized thing I’ve ever experienced in my life.

Well, they do try. Ever since Sara was introduced last season, we’ve gotten the impression that she is easily as smart as Peter and Neal. I get the feeling based on what we’ve seen so far that she is capable of being considerably more ruthless than either of them. Would that be a fair assessment, do you think, and could you speak to that?

Hi-Hi,

Do you really think that Peter is the bad guy? From the previous episodes, my judgement is that he's a pretty good person. Have you also noticed that Elizabeth is probably a character to voice how Peter is REALLY thinking? He's probably PROTECTING Kate from the real villain. And he can't tell Neal beause he knows he'd be too tempted.

Don't you think so?

BTW, it is my new goal to see the White Collar fan club #1 on the leaderboard. Tell everyone you know to watch at least one episode, then they'll want to join too.

BYE-BYE,
ILOVEPATRICK1

p.s. do you know how to change your sign-in name?
