She ran, far away and as fast as she could! She ran away from all the pain and sorrow, from all the people in her life, from everything she ever knew! But we can never run from everything... eventually it catch us!
That day everything changed! It started like a normal day, just another boring rainy day.
She woke up late, went for a run and spent her day at home, close to the fireplace. It was in the exact minute when she was going to bed that she heard the door bell ringing.
She made her way to the door and opened it. On the other side she saw a man, he was beatiful but she didn't pay much attention to him! She was sick of all of them... all the same, all trying something, all breaking the pieces that he broke in the first place!
He was all wet, the rain still falling in his head as he stood there, waiting for someone to say something. His hair was falling to his face, too dark from the water for her to see the colour, his blue shirt stuck to his body, his jeans dirty from the mud of the drive way...
"Can I help you?" She asked, trying to get him out of there so she could go upstairs and fall to the only place where she could see him.
"I'm sorry... My car broke down a few miles from here and this is the first house I've seen so far!" Her house was isolated from the little village where she worked and there wasn't any house between that village and next one. If anything happened no one would ever find out unless they were passing, not that she was worried!
"Ya... you'll have to walk a few more miles to get to the next mechanic."
"I was wondering... if you didn't mind, if I could stay here until tomorrow morning! It's pouring outside and I can't see anything! I would be out of here tomorrow morning... You wouldn't even know I was here!"
He looked so tired...so sad! She didn't have the courage to say no, so she moved a bit, letting him in! She walked without saying a word until the guest room, she showed him the bathroom, gave him a towel and said:
"Goodnight..."
She went upstairs, got dressed for bed, turned out the lights and got into the bed. The rain was pouring harder outside and for some reason she felt a spark of relief because the man was here and not outside!
She closed her eyes and fell asleep... For the first time in 2 years she didn't dream of him.
