Firestar is Going Crazy

Firestar led the patrol farther out into the forest. He was sure that all the things that were happening around here were just coincidental.

"The last thing I need right now is..."

Then, the ground started to shake as a tree toppled over in the distance. After the thunder rumble, Firestar screamed like a little she-cat and jumped in the air.

"EARTHQUAKE!"

"Firestar!" Sandstorm meowed. "What are you meowing about? It was just another tree falling!"

"Why do you sound so optimistic about it?" he retorted, his fur lying back again.

"I don't," she replied coolly, "but you're acting as if an army of foxes are around you lately!"

Firestar sighed. "You know, I miss Squirrelpaw."

Sandstorm's eyes narrowed. "It's your fault, you know."

"My fault?!"

"Yes! If you hadn't let her think she was doing anythings suspicious, she wouldn't have left, and neither would Brambleclaw."

Firestar's upcoming retort turned into a heavy huff. "I remember what happened before she left."...

IT'S FLASHBACK TIME!!!!

Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw hid behind the bushes so that no cat would bother them. They didn't feel like doing what they were supposed to be doing.

Squirrelpaw was listening to her iPod (cheap parents won't let her get an iPhone, like Leafpaw got), reading Twoleg magazine. Brambleclaw was lazily picking grass up with his claws.

As Start All Over by Miley Cyrus played in her ears, she rolled her eyes as Brambleclaw looked at her.

"That smug look on your face makes you seem like you have a problem with something," she mewed deeply.

"There is, Squirrelpaw," he replied. "I had another dream. I was drowning in this really salty water, and there was nowhere for me to go to shore. And then, there was this cave with pointed stony teeth! And the sun was falling into the sky, bleeding!"

"What?"

"I said--"

"WHAT?!"

"Squirrelpaw, you are a nuisance!" he yowled.

"You go to the Dark Forest!" she screeched, not realizng what he was really saying."

"What's going on over here?"

Brambleclaw looked up to see Firestar staring at him.

"Spiderpaw told you I might find you here." His eyes then narrowed. "Trying to plot something evil?"

"We were working all day!" Squirrelpaw meowed over Miley Cyrus. "We wanted to chill out!"

"It's not the time to chill out!" he growled. "You've been chilling out to much lately!"

Squirrelpaw didn't pay the least attention to her father. She looked back into the magazine, staring at the pretty models...whatever models are.The music was playing in her ears really loud, and the sound changed to a Hannah Montana song she didn't knowing the title.

"That's it!" he yowled. "Squirrelpaw, you're grounded!"

Then, she immediately looked up, a shocked look in her eyes. Then her eyes narrowed. "No I'm not."

"Your leader's word is law!" he growled.

"Well, if someone told you the world was going to end, would you believe them?"

"Maybe!" Inspite of his anger, he did really think that if someone told him it was the end of the world, he might believe. "Well, no iPod, no texting, and certainly...I'm cancelling your magazine subscription!"

She gaped her mouth open, taking out the earphones. "It's not my subscription! It's Leafpaw's!"

"Leafpaw's my child prodigy!" he retorted. "Don't speak of her! Now, young she-cat, you are grounded, and that is my word, and my word is FINAL! Graystripe, gather the prey and head home."

Graystripe bowed. "Yes, Your Majesty. It's time for your nap."

Firestar chuckled. "I'm in a royal mood today."

As the two toms left, Squirrelpaw were left, shocked and recovering from what just happened.

"Nobody's perfect!" the iPod sang. "I gotta work it again and again 'til I get it right!"

Squirrelpaw scoffed. "You ain't kidding. You can say that again."

"Nobody's perfect! You live and you love it! Everybody makes mistakes!"

Brambleclaw rolled his eyes as her stubbornness, and he left, not telling her his super-awesome dream.

Then, a random blue light came in the flashback, flying creepily past Squirrelpaw. She looked at the light, confused...

END OF FLASHBACK TIME! NOW GET AWAY FROM MY TIME MACHINE!

Ninja Bluestar woke up in the tree, her bones aching. Desperate to remember where she was, she pinched herself. Then, Ninja Bluestar stood up, stretching. As she stretched, an acorn dropped to the ground.

A squirrel was casually minding his own business, putting a precious acorn away. But, as he did, he saw a random blue light right in front of him. The squirrel was scared, dropping his prize to the ground.

Bluestar still looked at the squirrel, and he looked as if he'd seen a ghost. She didn't understand squirrels, but this one was not moving.

"What're you looking at, dirtbag?" she hissed.

The squirrel's eyes widened even more, his lip quivering.

"What's the matter?" she growled. "Haven't seen a cat in an official Ninja suit before?"

The squirrel backed away.

"I'll get you out of here, myself."

Ninja Bluestar then just kunfu kicked the squirrel in the butt, sending him flying down the tree. She looked at it as it fell.

"It's funnier on Asdf," she sighed.

Then, all of a sudden, she felt the tree rumble. She clutched at the thick trunk with her paws, her now beating heart pounding. When she looked down, she saw a guy in a goalie mask and a chainsaw.

"Aaaahhh!!!!!" she screamed. "It's Jason!!!!"

But as she flinched, the image turned into a Twoleg with yellow hard head fur and and ugly plaid shirt. He did have a chainsaw, yes, but thank StarClan it wasn't Jason!

She sighed with relief, purring. "It's just a construction Twoleg about to cut this tree down." But as she said it, her eyes widened.

Quickly, she grabbed hold of the tree, bracing herself for the fall....

Firestar and Sandstorm were padding straight to where a Twoleg was cutting down a tree.

Sandstorm flexed her claws. "Oh, I wanna scratch his face off!"

"Then it'd be too messy," he protested. "We must attack John Cusack before we attack him."

She gaped her mouth. "Who the heck is John Cusack?!"

He shrugged. "Dunno."

"You don't know much, do you?"

"No," he answered. "But I do know that I love you."

She purred, then sighing. "You're clueless."

Then, the tree started to fall, a groaning noise echoing through the forest. They realized that the tree was hurtling straight towards them.

"Look out!" Sandstorm shrieked.

As they paced back several steps, everything was slow-motion in Firestar's mind. His heart was beating in his ears as the slow-motion continued, and the tree was falling down at a slower pace.

All of a sudden, he saw a blue-gray cat in the tree that was falling, one of her forepaws out, one of the toes sticking up towards the Twoleg. She looked up, waving with the paw she had up.

"...Bluestar...?"

Bluestar then turned into a blue light as it was at normal speed. He couldn't see the light anymore when he blinked and the tree fell down.

Both cats were breathing heavily as they stared at the damage, flanks heaving.

"Sandstorm..." he then started at last.

"What?" she gasped.

He gulped. "I think I'm going crazy."

"That doesn't seem to surprise me," she replied padding back to camp. Firestar followed vainly behind.

Bluestar was crawling out of the tree, brushing herself off.

"If only Twolegs could learn," she grumbled, limping.

Ninja Bluestar has left the building...until the next chapter.
