This was a good movie.
I'll be the first to admit it; I went into this movie with extremely low expectations. The trailer made it seem like a bland, it's been done before animation movie. In truth, the basic 'father-lets-daughter-go-after-breaking-trust-and-her-falling-in-love' plotline has been done, but there was so much unique to this movie that I didn't focus on that until well after the credits rolled. The trailer didn't do this movie justice at all.
Dracula's portrayal from the stereotypical 'I-want-to-suck-your-blood' into a monster afraid of humans who only wants to protect his daughter and miss his wife was amazing. If there's a monster I could see being an overprotective daddy, it's Dracula, and this movie pulled it off really well.
Mavis, Dracula's daughter, plays a wonderfully naive teenager (if 118 years old counts as a teen?). I thought it would be overdone, but it's really interesting to watch the progression from the lies that have been spun around her into who she wants to be.
Jonathan was a character who I'm sure people were supposed to connect with, but he was a bit annoying. I do like the pop culture references he kept dropping throughout the film and how he got them all to loosen up a bit, but the character himself was a bit...blah, blah, blah. (hee hee)
There were some great more minor characters as well, like Frankenstein, Wayne Wolf, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, just to name a few. Those characters truly help the movie along. There are some adorable moments and some more sad moments, but it's a really heartwarming film the whole family will love.
The voice actors don't even need to be mentioned by name because they were all pretty amazing. Though there were a couple of times Adam Sandler's Dracula accent could get a little over the top.
The music throughout the film is enjoyable, though I'm not a huge LMFAO fan, but it also showed the changing of the times well. Also, the six-year-old charge I watched this with was a bit scared everytime Dracula got angry and did his roaring red face (which you can see in the trailer. I'm not really spoiling much), so I'd warn your kids ahead of time, since they're a bit, um, jump-scary.
Other than that, the lessons throughout the film are good and it will keep children, teens, and adults alike entertained.
Score : 7.5 out of 10

A lot of folks can't understand how we came
to have an oil shortage here in our country.
~~~
Well, there's a very simple answer.
~~~
Nobody bothered to check the oil.
~~~
We just didn't know we were getting low.
~~~
The reason for that is purely geographical.

Our OIL is located in

NO? Didn't think So.
The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about a new virulent strain of this old disease. The disease is called Gonorrhea Lectim. It's pronounced "Gonna re-elect 'em," and it is a terrible obamanation.
The disease is contracted through dangerous and high risk behavior involving putting your cranium up your rectum. Many victims contracted it in 2008...but now most people, after having been infected for the past 1-2 years, are starting to realize how destructive this sickness is.
It's sad because Gonorrhea Lectim is easily cured with a new drug just coming on the market called Votemout. You take the first dose in 2010 and the second dose in 2012 and simply don't engage in such behavior again; otherwise, it could become permanent and eventually wipe out all life as we know it.
Several states are already on top of this, like Virginia and New Jersey, and apparently now Massachusetts, with many more seeing the writing on the wall.
