This has nothing to do with Proven (I got stuck with the final part :P). It's closer to the present.
Never Alone-Preporations
SilverWings very rarely ever acted her age. In the eight months Thirteen had known her, he had rarely witnessed his partner act like a teenage girl, and defiantly not the young thirteen that she was.
For the majority of the time, particularly when Silver knew others were watching her, she acted much older. Always putting on a brave face, never backing down from a challenge. It was only in her nature, especially when the well-being of others was at stake.
It was one of her values that made her a good fighter, Thirteen thought, to be so willing to defend another. It was also her greatest weakness. Silver always managed to get into trouble, taking on fights that were well above her level. Getting in the middle of situations were she had no business, except for the urge to do for others, to protect them from the evils of the world, even when they desired no protection. To be their Guardian Angel.
As Thirteen watched Silver from the roof he was crouched on, he thought of obstacles that would keep her from fighting for her team. Her friends. Her family.
He could not think of a single one.
SilverWings paced back and forth in the alley, twirling a throwing knife in her right hand. She was growing impatient, her eyes scanning the darkness. Thirteen decided the area was secure and leapt over the ledge, landing on the balls of his feet like he had been trained.
Silver whirled around, her knife gripped in her hand.
"It's me, Silver," Thirteen said, holding his hands in the air, before she mistakenly chucked the blade at him. Thankfully she slid the throwing knife into her belt.
"Where have you been?" SilverWings asked incrediously. "It's nearly midnight."
"I had to get past Blade," Thirteen explained defensively. "Had to sneak through alleys and over rooftops the whole way. It's not as easy to do when you haven't been trained by assassins and cons."
"Ex-assassins and ex-cons," Silver corrected him, as if they weren't exchanging an old joke. She checked her watch and cringed. "Do you have the intel," she asked hopefully.
"Of course," Thirteen assured, reaching into his coat, a slick black that allowed him to travel at night, using the shadows as an alley. He pulled out a thick beige envelope and handed it to his eager companion. "Maps, pictures, data, it's all there."
Silver opened the envelope and leafed through the documents inside. She sighed with relief, as if she had half expected to find the papers inside blank. "These are perfect. Thank you, Thirteen," she said.
Thirteen shivered in the chilly air and put his hands in his warm pockets. "I need at least two weeks to get ready," he declared.
"One week," SilverWings responded, sealing the envelope and tucking into her jacket.
"That's not enough time," he argued. "Preporations need to be made; people need to be put in place."
"We don't have two weeks, Alek!" Silver said, using Thirteen's real name in her distress. "The longer they have Daemian, the harder it will be to get him back." She bit her lip and looked at the ground, her shoulders hunching.
Thirteen laid a hand on his friends shoulder and tipped up her chin, forcing her to meet his serious eyes. He sighed.
"One week," he agreed. "But we have to be careful, Ary. One mistake and your brother won't be the only one in need of a rescue."
Thirteen's younger friend nodded, perking up slightly. "Thank you, Aleksander," SilverWings said, "Now get home before Blaze find out you snuck out."
"Yes, ma'am," Thirteen said, saluting her. He took a running start, jumped atop a closed dumpster, and scurried up the brick wall. Once he reached the top, he perched on the ledge and watched as his 'sister' diss appear into the shadows. Thirteen shook his head, "Nice going, Aleksander," he said to himself. "Now we have less time to prepare." He looked to the full moon, begging for his luck to change, then scurried back across the rooftops.

Harley stood there knees bent, Black hair covering half of her face, breathing hard, and eyes wide. She shuddered, she knew she had to die soon, her mind, almost as if it was another person entirely, was telling her so. Black Canary speed over,"Harley? Are you okay?" Harley didnt even blink. She was frozen. Roy tried stepping to her, but when he did she reacted, she beared her teeth, and her eyes flames up. Wally stepped infront of ROy's path,"Liek you think you're gonna pass?" Roy looked down at his old friend. The team truely loved her, like family, and ROy felt ashamed.
Black Canary shook...

"You both deserved to die." Lynsey scowled as the words rolled off her tongue. She kicked the dirt in front of her parents grave. "You never cared for me. And for that, I hope you burn forever." she looked at her fathers grave "You don't deserve justice. You hurt me, abused me. For gods sake you almost killed me!" She looked at her mothers grave "Why? Why didn't you stop him! You know it was wrong! You knew it hurt me! But you stood in the background like a coward. Letting him to whatever he pleased to me. You never hugged me, kissed me, told me everything was going to be alright, you didn't...

A Valentine's Day Fanfiction

“What are you doing for Valentine's Day?” Artemis asked.
Megan looked at the only other person in the kitchen/family room center. Artemis was watching her with curious blue eyes. Megan blushed and looked back down at her bowl.
“I don't know what that is. What's a Valentine's Day?”
“Oh. It's...a day where you show people how much you care. Most of the time it's between couples but friends do it too.”
Megan nodded and started mixing again. She felt eyes on her and felt free to ask her question.
“What's a Valentine?”
“Someone or several people you care a...

She was running along the street, a blur to all. She did a few tricks over cars, going too fast for any one to appreciate them. She laughed, enjoying her fun. She skidded to a stop when she saw a blonde haired boy in a black trench coat running away. She looked at him for a minute. Why was he running? She raced towards him.
“Hey softie!” she yelled teasingly.
The boy stopped, turning to her. He scowled.
“Shut up Erin!”
She stopped in front of him.
“Awww! C'mon Terror! I was just playing!”
“I don't give a care. Leave me alone!”
Terror turned to leave, but Erin grabbed his wrist. A...

"Rene, you are going to be late for training," said Megan. Crap. Quickly, I put on my favorite outfit; long sleeve purple shirt with a black mini skirt and yellow leggings, and of course, my long black boots. I ran a comb through her thick red hair, ran to the kitchen and grabed a pop tart. This will have to do. Can't be late on the first day. I shoved the pop tart down my throat as I sprinted to training.
"Oh good, you made it. I thought I would have to go and get you," Megan said. I found a perfect spot where I could practice my spells and study. It all went well,...

Proven part III
The silence was a thick presence in the air, one that was suffocating me. Nic broke it.
"Where have you been?" he asked.
"Around," I said, "I've been trying to keep low since Cadmus."
"Did you get the Weapon?" Alek asked eagerly, "Do you have it with you know?" He looked at my backpack as if he actually expected I was lugging it around. I thought over my words carefully before answering.
"The Weapon is in a secure location," I said. Not a lie, just not the full truth.
"A secure location?" Jasper repeated. I nodded, then noticed the flashing screen of the laptop out of the corner...

“Now how'd you snag that?” Willow asked, looking at her sister.
Willow had gone to her room after arriving several hours before but had heard the others go out minutes ago. Becca was sitting on the couch, a bowl of chocolate ice cream in her hands.
“Robin,” Becca said simply, patting the seat next to her.
Willow shook her head.
“I need to eat something.”
“There's ice cream in the freezer,” Becca called.
Willow opened it, looking through the appliance.
“I don't see it,” Willow called back.
“Really?”
Becca came over, looking over her sister's shoulder.
“Hmm. Don't worry. I'll...

Becca hit the wall hard, her head hurting. She felt his lips against hers, a hand trailing down her thigh. Just like yesterday, Becca had been ordered to dress in a too revealing skin-tight dress. But this one was a dark purple, so dark it was almost black. And she wasn't allowed to wear her boots. She moved to push him away, but Salva pinned her hands down with one hand. He had put a leg in between hers and Becca wanted to fight back. But one thought kept her from lashing out with everything she had. Robin. He may not love you, but you love him. You can't let him die.
Tears flooded her eyes...

Chapter Three-

Robin's cell phone rang and he answered it.

"Robin, did you-"

"On my way." the Boy Wonder said, stepping into the zeta tube and hanging up on the Dark Knight.

Wally pressed his ring and his suit ejected. He quickly joined Robin in the zeta-tube.

"Recognized, Robin. B-01. Kid Flash. B-03."

A moment later the two were in the downtown area and Wally swore Robin transported to the spot where Barbara was on the ground.

Barbara's mask was off, and at the site of the scarlet speedster, she moved to put it back on.

"Don't worry." Robin said supporting her head. "He knows pretty much everything."...

Waking up by being thrown in a cage with my hands tied up wasn’t exactly the ideal way for me to wake up. I was laying on my side on the cold cage floor, and eventually squirmed my way up to leaning on the side of the age, sitting down. The room was dimly lit, but it was pretty easy to make out certain objects. In front of me there was a surgical table, a control board, and 7 different containment units. To my right were 2 other empty cages, and to my left was another cage. I screamed at the sight of what was in it, but then calmed down and sighed when I realized it was just Roy, still unconscious....

“Jade's factor is kicking in. Good.”
Ra's turned away from the screen. He was tired of watching the girls. They were doing well but Ra's needed to bathe in the Lazarus pits. His skin glowed as the warm water's healing steam wrapped around him. He sighed, pleased. His body was feeling worn and old. He was millions of years old but, thanks the the Lazarus pits, he was immortal. As long as he soaked in them every day. If not, he could turn to dust. Then he'd be dead. Ra's stepped into the water, feeling his body begin to heal. Life was worth living for; but only if he could destroy it and rebuild...

“No way! Cassie was lying!”
Artemis growled in anger. She had been scanning the security cameras (she'd seen Robin hack them a few dozen times) and was disturbed by what she saw. And now that she thought about it, Cassie had been attempting to get the Superboy's attention. And Artemis was mad!
“I can't believe this! Becca, you've got good senses.”
Artemis walked down the halls, trying to find the others. She eventually found them sitting in the living room. The guys were listening to Cassie talk while Megan baked in the kitchen. Becca sat at the counter, silently fuming. Artemis joined...

So here she was, perched on the top a warehouse building, peeking through the skylight. Anna had gotten the call 2 days ago about Kane practically taking Max hostage. She had decided not to contact Robin and the team, because one hostage was good enough. Anna was practically frozen, waiting for the right moment, but as for now, she remained hidden. Kane was probably 30 feet below, just waiting there, occasionally fight practice or a simple phone call. But what Anna was looking for was the perfect moment when both Kane and Max were in the same room so she could kick Kane and his friends' butt,...
