Suddenly his eyes grew with both Anger and Amusement."well?" he asked in a more Mature voice."uh..." i managed to say. it wasn't much but it proved that i had no idea what i was doing. he closed his eyes and let out a small chuckle. when the mysterious eyes opened back up they were back to the innocent child's. "i really don't know what I'm doing so I'm just going to clear my mind and go away, ok?"i finally blurted out.he gave me a surprised look."your just like Pegasus."he murmured to himself."who's Pegasus?" i asked with a half closed eye. "you were listening?" he asked with an even more surprised look. "yeah." i replied quickly."and whats with you? first you were a kid, then you were all Mature and mysterious, and now your just an innocent little kid again!" i half said half shouted."i switched?" he shouted in question, almost falling backward. i grabbed his arm before he could fall down the long, deep stairway. "uh..thanks." he managed to get out when he was finally standing again."you know to much. i can't let you go without finishing the path." he admitted with a shake of his head. i could almost read his mind:'why did i even come down here? i should have gone at a later hour.' is what i thought he was thinking."come with me." he demanded in the Mature voice.'what is up with this kid?' i thought as i followed him cautiously."uh...nice necklace, by the way." i commented. he gave me a confused look for a second, then seemed to realize what i was talking about."it's not a necklace. it's an ancient artifact." he explained.
at the end of the stairway was a large room with more of the ancient artifact thingies.he sat down on a big block and gestured with his head to go up to them. i walked up to them slowly and looked at them in awe. the kid seemed to be having a strong conversation with himself so i was unfortunate enough to know nothing about what to do."pick up one and let it test you." he demanded after about half a minute. i nodded and picked up one. a simple gold chain with an eye as one of the links. and man, did it sting! i wanted to scream but i didn't want to disturb the kid.i closed my eyes and clenched my teath as hard as i could and after about five minutes of enduring the growing pain it just went away. i made sure i hadn't dropped the chain by opening my eyes with a"huh?"it was still in my hands.that was the good news.the BAD news is that my hands were burnt and it was bleeding like crazy!"about time you opened your eyes." the kid said from an out of sight area. i turned around to see him at the doorway."you can take quite a bit of pain. that chain burnt right down to the bone." he told me with an impressed glare. i almost fainted."why don't i feel the pain anymore?" i winced in question."no more pain nerves in that area." he explained."come on." and he started walking up the stairs. i followed without a word.
"what were you doing down there anyhow?" he asked when we got back up to the surface world. i still had the chain in one hand. the other i had wrapped up in my emergency bandages."i was just curious." i winced. he was still in his more mature being."what's your name?" he asked out of the blue."joy." i answered with a tang of fear in my voice. he changed back into the kid."I'm Yugi."
he told me with a smile.i couldn't help but smile back.
