The X Factor stars shocked fans by confirming their love for each other earlier this year, but after both finding success in the music business, they decided to part for the sake of their careers.
Rebecca proved she’s not one to stay at home and grieve though, and instead threw on a little black dress to hit the town last night.
The Scouse singer was spotted out with a friend at Mosquito Bar in Liverpool, to take her mind off the break-up.
She was also celebrating her birthday on the night out, after turning 25 on Thursday.
And she tweeted after her special day: ‘I love my family so much and friends and fans you made my birthday a very special day mwah love you xxx’
Rebecca had faced much criticism for dating One Direction singer Zayn, who at 18 is six years her junior.

Fans of the boyband had targeted her and she hit back on Twitter yesterday, posting: ‘One thing I despise is a bully wether in real life or on twitter do not message my 12 year old girls abuse is vile!!’
But the reason behind the split is said to be their careers and they are both rumoured to have realised being unattached would be better at this point in time.
Rebecca said: ‘I’m happy I’ve decided to be single – my children, my family and my career are now my world', the Sunday Mirror reported.
Just last month the X Factor runner up had gushed over her relationship with Malik though, saying she was happier than ever.

She told Reveal magazine: ‘I’m in love and it’s a wonderful feeling. I’ve never felt like this before.
‘It took a while before we looked at each other in a different light. There was no one particular moment, it just evolved over time. But he made all the running.’
The mother-of-two had even introduced him to her children and added: ‘My kids were with me right from the start of things on the programme so that had always known Zayn.’
Their relationship became public knowledge in March but they are said to have split up last week after four months of dating.
